Shawn Zobel on 610

In a few minutes...

...itll be interesting to hear his view on the draft. One of those who think there isn't a QB worth #1 overall in this draft.

Im at work tho...it'd be nice if someone posted the play-by-play.

Now Griffin's indicator stats right now are off the charts - nearly 70% completion percentage, 16/4 TD/INT ratio, and over 8 YPA. People lumping him in with Luck appear to be justified but it's with the benefit of hindsight.

We can't sit here today and pretend that Luck and Griffin were 1a and 1b going into last year's draft.
Pretty much.

This same Zobel guy had Barkley as the #2 QB last year around this time and called him a franchise guy saying he has all the tools and intangibles.

honestly

now you take a guy like Tannehill 8th, he makes $10M...he sucks, oh well...you waste 1 year.

(no, I'm not saying he's a bust yet, I'm just saying there is no longer risk taking the BQBA in the draft)

RGIII does play in a RGIII friendly offense...lot of screens, and they really haven't asked him to win games with his arm, especially early in the game. They don't take a ton of risks until they have to...although I think dos Shanahan are ready to take those baby gloves off and let RGIII start winning games with his arm...teams don't think he'll throw it deep and now two weeks in a row he's unleashed his beastly, accurate cannon to wide open guys streaking down the field...

now Luck...Luck they treated like a veteran from snap #1 and he's played like a top 7 QB in the NFL and he's a rookie...

so yeah, I've been more impressed with Luck but RGIII is certainly a franchise, fantastic, elite, amazing, incredible QB.

So far our scouts have scouted Barkley, Geno and and Glennon.

Haven't heard about our scouts being at a Tyler Wilson game. They probably have, but it just wasn't tweeted or known.

I can't believe you guys are willing to throw away the #1 pick in the draft just because you need a QB. I'm not saying that Geno is the next Tim Couch, but he could be. And if he is you just threw away a chance to draft a guy who should be a Pro Bowl caliber player.

Elway thought he needed a QB in 2011 and I'm ecstatic that he used his brain and didn't draft Gabbert, Locker, Ponder, or Dalton at #2.

I'd rather have a bust QB at #1 overall than a pro bowl ILB

They've been inconsistent, sure, but generally better as the year went on from a poor start to the season. They'll have players drafted from that line. The West Virginia line, on the other hand, was a turnstile for every single game in which they played anybody with even marginal talent on defense. Absolutely horrendous.

I get it, you guys are fed up with going the retread route. You want your own franchise QB. But if one is not available you shouldn't just throw away the #1 pick in the draft. That is just as dumb as committing to Matt Cassel for 4 years.

well unless there is a Calvin Johnson in the draft...I certainly don't want an ILB at #1, a DL at #1, we don't need a pass rusher so even if Von Miller were in the draft it would be a luxury pick that we don't really need...we don't need a RB...we could use a DB so if there was a Champ Bailey in the draft sign me up...

otherwise draft a ****ing QB and be done with it...Geno, Barkley...who gives a shit.
