The Obama Netflix Grift

Ted Sarandos, a major campaign contributor for Obama and the streaming giant’s creative-content chief who oversees an $8 billion budget, helped to broker the deal, the source told The Post.

Sarandos and his wife, Nicole Avant, bundled nearly $600,000 in contributions to Obama from their friends and associates during the 2012 presidential campaign.

The couple is friends with the Obamas, and Avant served as the US ambassador to the Bahamas from 2009 to 2011, during the former president’s first term.

Her father, Clarence, a music exec, bundled a total of nearly $450,000 for Obama’s presidential campaigns.

Physically, there’s a difference in color.”

What's wrong with that? Saying one side is more diverse than the other is a fact. Saying that a white man might not be able to represent people of color or vice versa is a fact. Saying men might not be able to represent women fully is a fact. Why is saying one side of Congress should be more diverse so wrong?

Not facts. Opinions.

Why should I, as a blonde haired man, have white haired representatives! Should I never vote for a woman since she 'might not' be ABLE to represent me? How does a tall Englishman represent the rights of the ginger?

****ing geezus. Here I thought it was about ideas and policy, but I guess politics is about racial relativism.

I can think of a few famous leaders who were all about racial relativism. It didn't end well.
You can only be adequately represented by people who use whale avatars on the internet.

It's nonsense to say that you must share sex/gender/orientation/race/religion and HOWEVER they intersect to be able to represent another. You did call it a 'fact'.

I'd rather the hierarchy be built on merit, competence, and accomplishment. I don't really care how it stacks up with sex/gender/orientation/race/religion. That's not where the focus should be.
You know damn well you wouldn't feel represented if Congress was 80% women or 80% black or 80% millennial or anything like that.

I don't know why it's such a hard concept. Is a person of the same race/gender ALWAYS going to represent their people the best? Of course not. Are they more likely to relate and understand their issues and better address their issues? Of course. A young black male is going to understand my life more than you would. A older white male would relate to your life more than I would. It's just an honest statement.

You guys are right. I don't understand why the founding fathers wanted representation in parliament. Obviously anyone could have understood and/or related to them. I don't know why they needed representation from people similar to them from silimiar situations as them.

But... but... but haven't the experts concluded that the Revolution was only meant to benefit rich, white and Protestant land owners?

I'll hang up and take your answer off the air.

Last post before I go watch the game. The congnitive dissonance here is funny. Everyone, me included will admit Obama was at least a bit racially bias, but somehow saying the same about the men in Congress is somehow wrong. Hilarious.

Why would an older white male relate to my life?

Because he shares my complexion? For the record, I'm a millennial. First year of the 'generation'. Class of 2000.

I'm skeptical that you're younger than me. I'm honestly more offended by the 'old' and 'young' than the black and white.

I relate more with people over ideas and values than appearances.

Why does a guy like me, who grew up in a school that was predominantly minorities in a poor neighborhood, share experiences with suburban white kids from Brentwood?

I don't much have shared experience with anyone who went to Harvard either, regardless of race.
