Call of Duty will go head-to-head with Battlefield 3 in 2011.

The third game in the series, which will be shown to press during the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco next month, is set for release this coming fall, Electronic Arts confirmed.

The publisher revealed the first teaser trailer for the game on its official website tonight. The trailer, which contains no actual gameplay, displays quick cuts of helicopters, ground troops, tanks and fighter jets.

Additional details courtesy of the official Battlefield Blog confirm a full single-player and co-op campaign, jets, prone, and 64-player multiplayer for the PC version. The Frostbite 2 engine will power the game and a Limited Edition will be revealed around GDC.

Developer DICE confirmed earlier this morning it was canceling the release of Battlefield 1943 and the Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Onslaught pack for PC.

That's true Kraus. I like that a lot tbh. But I do hate the tactical light in high light maps. Kinda dumb. Should be ineffective.

That's really the only gripe I have with the multiplayer. The flashlight shouldnt work at all.

I agree with this. I had been playing 90% of my time with the PKP in Support class; unlocked every accessory etc...

I decided to switch it up and got abused when I switched classes and/or weapon in SUpport class.

Ehhh, they do have some ridiculously bright and debilitating flashlights IRL (which WOULD blind you in daylight) just not to the extent that they do in the game. Weren't they supposed to nerf them a while ago?

I do miss ****ing pwning in BF3 sometimes. Just wish I would have broken that 500 SPM mark when I was playing. Got so close.

anyone know of a way / had success with accessing unranked servers on consoles?

I've filtered for them on the server browser, but nothing pops up.
I'm trying to find a sparsely populated server to practice helicopter & Jet flying. I've joined a server with about 10 people, but it ends up being 5 guys on each team standing around the deployment waiting for the next helo/jet spawn

never really had success at filtering unranked servers. What I've been doing with all vehicles and helicopters is play conquest and capture flags with the vehicles/Heli's. I've upgraded so fast in the tank I hold a bit of leverage now with the better air support. I can hover just over a flag with a helicopter and gain 450 points per capture. Do that a few times and you're getting heat seekers, IR flares, stealth, etc.

I flew a jet around for about half the match and got zero points before I just crashed it. I know that's not good for the team or whatever, but how else can I learn?

what you need to do in the jet is camp on the other teams airbase when the jets spawn on the airstrip unload the gun on the aircraft and more than likely you'll catch someone trying to take off in it.

that is ****in awesome . I love the knifing technique in the game. You have to sneak up behind them in order to be effective, but its the best bitch slap on a fighting game.

I finally managed to get on a server last night on Firestorm where pretty much everyone on it was just dorking around with vehicles. I was able to fly a helo for a good 15 minutes w/out crashing or getting shot at. Landed it a few times. landed it on rooftops etc. then a few more people joined, and started shooting everyone down etc.

really wish they would have unranked servers for consoles.

this is so true. It's sort of an "OH sh*T" moment when the animation shows you getting knifed. but it's SO rewarding to knife someone from behind. especially snipers/campers.

the only other thing that comes close for me is C4 a building/room that a sniper is in. Beautiful.
