hell no. no more rebuilding.

what we are seeing is a team learning the new offense while the coaches learn what each player's limitations are -- everybody's new here, not just Smiff and they are running simple shells of the overall offensive scheme.

also, keep in mind Jamaal makes this team legit. when he's out, the fire is out.

if they look like this come game one, then we got coaching problems.

Being risk averse is great when you're winning and you don't need your QB to make any plays.

I don't think Smitty is that guy.

But I felt like too many times in the last two years, when we needed Alex to make a play, it just wasn't there. (Obviously not counting the Saints game, he played like a MASTER in that game)

I figured Andy would be demanding that Alex throw the ball deep in the preseason and take some risks. I don't expect him to come out in the regular season and all of a sudden hes Aaron Rodgers, if he isn't even going to try during the pre season. I would be more than willing to stick up for him here if that were the case. But hes not even taking Chances. Same ol dump downs. I think its just who he is. Jamaal Charles is going to have 1500 yards rushing and 90 receptions.

By week 8 everyone here will be admitting GoChiefs was right all along.
The bad news is you saw what you are going to keep seeing.
Smiff got carried for two years by a very good team. You don't have the team to carry his mediocrity. You need HIM to do the carrying. Never going to happen.
But oh, will you have arguments about excuses. All been done before on the Niners board. Give up the desperate, hoping, belief now, you'll save yourself the embarrassment.
Really funny, the last few Smithsmokers left on the Niners board are finally dead silent.

Yup. And we all know that Alex Smith isn't going to start being aggressive in the REGULAR SEASON, if he isn't being aggressive in the PRE SEASON. Id be targeting Bowe every chance I got. but yet, hes thrown him one pass in two games, and missed two very wide open guys.

Not screwing up can lead you to wins. But it doesn't lead you to Super Bowl's, not in this era. I am not expecting a SB for this team in any way, but long-term I don't see how Alex ever takes us there. If he is a place holder then this was a move made sense for a team that didn't like the options at QB in the draft.

I don't trust the organization to judge a QB's season fairly, even if that is unfair to a new administration. I am going to be concerned about it until they prove they know what they are doing.

The Pack won 11 games last year with the #20 running game.

They were 15-1 with the #27 running game.
