Off Season Lets Talk Guns

Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.

Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon?

Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware?

Certain events caused me to accelerate purchases this year, when I saw one for a decent price I picked it up. It's nice! Super pointable and the ergonomics are good. LOL because of this year one of my friends has been calling me Burt..........

I know the feeling. My dad gave me the look when I told him about a 10k 77grain HPBT purchase along with 5k 168grain Match Kings.

Anyway, what do YOU think about the trigger on the Tavor?

Honestly I don't mind it, every bullpup is going to have a compromise on the trigger just given the design, but honestly it's really not bad. I like the fact that the Tavor has metal trigger group components versus the polymer ones in the AUG.

Hell in my ARs I run Geissele triggers so most things will be a step down. But it's really not a point to complain about for me.

Oh yea on other cool bit about the tavor. It won't fire out of battery. If the bolt isn't fully locked forward the firing pin won't be released! Small thing but nice safety feature. Basically if it's not fully forward the hammer actually can't hit the firing pin, it'll hit the bolt carrier instead!

Cool. A battle rifle trigger doesn't have to be silky smooth as long as it has enough punch to fire the primer every time.

Two new members of the family....one old school....one new school!

Colt 2011 anniversary 1911, basically a replica of the WWI gun delivered to the army!

Boberg XR9-L....tiny...+P 9mm rated, I swear I can drop this thing in my pocket and you wouldn't even tell it's not my wallet. 4.2" barrel in a gun that's < 6" long total. 7+1 capacity. Cool tech, I just want to see how it shoots now!

Yeah, no.

I also live in bear country and know that the wind is always blowing in the mountains. If you have a headwind and let the spray go, you're screwed. I have a couple cans of bear spray, but don't trust it after having a can explode on me when I was riding last year you can keep your spray, I'll stick to my 45-70 and my S & W 500.

I live in the heart of grizzly country and all the rangers carry bear spray and guess what, all the tourists do too and for a very good reason, it works. They don't hand out guns at the national parks in case you come up on a grizzly, they hand out bear spray. Headwind or not, its your best chance...

I bought it at Opticsplanet. They had a special for free shipping and 10% off so I got it for $128. I got to see the light wood one and it was borderline orange. The dark looked better with the patina of the gun anyhow.
