The roster is basically telling the team they don't believe in the direction of the team.

They know how much Jim Harbaugh meant to that roster.

I just hope when Jim returns to the NFL in 2 years, it's not him going to the Raiders, Chargers or Denver.

I don't think I've seen anything like this in the NFL roster wise.

Baseball yes, but a team to just basically want out/quit/retire/walk away speaks volumes of that franchise.

Their fans should be flying a lot more than just banners to fire somebody responsible for this.

Baalke ****ed up by not finding a way to work with JH and basically forced him out.

That roster is laughing at Tomsula and the direction of the team under him and Kaepernick.

I mean, there are always the Browns and Raiders players consistently opting for free agency...but for a team 1 year removed from the Super Bowl this is crazy.

Yeah, I don't think that any of these retirements happen if Harbaugh was still there and the FO didn't make a complete ass of itself by leaking tons of rumors (they were the source of the Kaepernick trade rumors as well) and lying about pretty much everything.

as far as i know as a niner fan.. trent had no quarrel with JH. It's really all York's ego issue, just watch the press conference's he did this past year. We s till have quality players and will be competing for middle of the pack at best. This is quite possibly the worst offseason I have ever seen from any franchise in sports.

This move really ****ed the 49ers, too.

This leaves them with Staley and Boone as the only OTs they have that aren't fodder rookies.

I wonder what caused the timing of this retirement. If he would have done this before the draft or free agency, at least the team would have some time to find a replacement.

What would really be devastating is if Joe Staley decided to walk away too. Please do it Joe.
