NFL Draft:



Round 1, pick 23: Jace Amaro, TE, Texas Tech. At 6'5" and 260 pounds, Amaro offers a blend of great size, athleticism, tremendous hands, burst, and speed that is hard to find. He would add a new dimension to the Chiefs' offense and is a more sure pick than any of the WRs that would potentially be available at this spot. He is a big TE who runs and moves like a WR and has shown flashes in his blocking game that would leave one to believe that he can become a solid blocker if asked to. If Kelce manages to recover from his microfracture knee surgery and improves on his game as well; it wouldn't be farfetched to think that the Chiefs might have a TE duo that could potentially be as lethal as the Gronk-Gonzo duo of NE.

Round 3, Pick 87: Jimmie Ward, S, NIU. At 5'11" and 191 pounds, Ward is a bit undersized for the safety position but plays like a bigger player. He has the range to man the center field position, the instincts to make big plays, willingness and ability to deliver big hits in both the run and pass game, and the ability to drop down into the slot and cover slot receivers 1 on 1. He is a hard hitting safety that possesses the smooth hips and quick feet of a cover corner. There's a big chance that he will be gone by this pick but if he is there, he would be my selection to replace Lewis/ compete for the starting FS position.

Round 4, Pick 119: Dominique Easley, DT, Florida. At 6'2" and 280 pounds, Easley is on the smaller side of the spectrum for DL players in the NFL. He possesses a rare burst off the ball, a stout and powerful body, and an endless motor that makes him a special player when asked to pass rush from the DT position. That being said, injury concerns will drop him to the 4th round where the Chiefs can pick him up to provide a much needed pass rush threat from the interior of the DL. If Easley is able to regain his original burst or something close to it, he would help tremendously when lined up next to Poe, Hali, and Houston as a pass rush specialist in the Chiefs' nickel and dime packages.

Round 5, Pick 151: Michael Schofield, OT, Michigan. At 6'6" and 303 pounds, Schofield is a solid pass protector who has the quickness to remain outside but needs to add more muscle to his frame in order to hold up against NFL pass rushers. He provides good value in this round and has the athleticism to develop into a swing tackle with the potential to become a starting RT.



Round 6, Pick 177: Aaron Lynch, OLB, USF. At 6'5" and 245 pounds, he has the frame to put on 10-15 more pounds muscle in order to improve his ability to hold up against the point of attack. He has some good natural athletic ability and would be a good prospect to develop behind Houston and Hali.



Round 6, Pick 183: Josh Stewart, WR, OSU. He is 5'10" and 185 pounds and is very similar to Wes Welker in his short area quickness and route running. He is fearless over the middle and possesses solid hands. He is a willing blocker in the run game and is also a very good return man. To top it all off, he is a great individual as well.






There were really tough choices in the first several picks. Lots of different directions to go in.
