Alden.... It's a syndrome! All things considered GP has done well, but he's not the promise land for football either. He'll sell seats, but I think we came as close to a national championship as we're going to get last year.

But for basketball, we're ****ed! And the first reason they won't come is Alden. His only hope for the next Bill Self is to offer a coach a salary that shows MU is committed to winning "at all cost" (starting with the coach's salary), and we all know that ain't gonna happen.

OH. We're going to beat Kentucky at Rupp tonight, get into the NCAA tourney, and win it all! At least that's what hogville seems to think after our recent string of wins (nevermind we were in the easy part of our schedule and squeaked by with those wins) and the extremely dim possibility that we might squeak into the NCAA by winning out and putting up a good showing in the SEC tourney. Also nevermind that a month ago, most of hoglandia was calling for MA's head.

But yeah, I'm not a real fan of MA at this point. The inability to stop long scoring droughts with a set play as well as to adjust to the final 5-6 minutes of the game just kill me with him. I still dream that we're going to turn the corner in the next couple of years, but I'm pretty doubtful.

Monday morning the CoMo sports radio station, which is essentially Pravda for the university, was finally beginning to question the coaching. By Tuesday afternoon they were making false equivalencies with suitcase. Aside from demonstrating how much I detest journalism, it at least showed me that the athletic program knows they have a turd. It's the first step to flushing it.
