Chiefs center Mitch Morse’s MRI and CT scan showed that he does not need surgery.

That means Morse, who sprained his foot during Sunday’s win over the Eagles, should only miss a few weeks. Generally the recovery time for a foot sprain is two to four weeks, although every situation is different.

This is great news for the Chiefs. Morse is Kansas City’s best offensive lineman. He has been a reliable asset on offense ever since he was selected in the second round of the 2015 draft.

This injury does slightly hurt the Chiefs’ offensive line depth. Zach Fulton is more than capable of holding his own at center until Morse returns, but that only leaves seven healthy O-linemen on the team. Guard Parker Ehinger isn’t ready to return to the field yet.

The Chiefs’ two backup linemen are Jordan Devey and Cameron Erving. Devey can play center and guard while Erving can play guard and tackle, so there is a good amount of versatility on the team

Morse's injury must not be too bad. Garrett Bolles got a bruise and he had to be taken off the field on a cart while sobbing. Morse just walked off.

Good news I hope. Depends how fast his body rebounds and recovers. I have seen these sprains linger and Docs always say they hurt worse than a break sometimes. Also a twisted ankle is different from a sprain they often are better in a day.

He has been an ok pickup especially at center. He helped to blow open Hunt up the middle yesterday against a very good front.

I'm pretty good with Fulton as temporary C. Not a fan of him at G, but he's been a solid C in the past.

I hope Ehinger can get back in there at G soon, and if so or not, Witz improves quickly. The entire OL will be hanging heads in shame while watching most of that Philly game.

Fulton has been a great draft pick.

Proof off why you need to always be drafting fatties in every draft, even in the later rounds. Trust me, Fulton will get a nice pay check when his rookie deal is up. He would be a starter for a number of teams IMO.
