Wichita or Springfield for me. Pretty accurate.

The interesting part is that my wife grew up in Denver, but her whole family is from Kansas. She actually matched Springfield better than anywhere, indicating that dialects (at least in her case) can survive through a generation or two.

There are a lot of personal factors at play. A good example is my mom. Her dialect has actually shifted to more of a southern drawl when it was formerly Midwestern, despite not moving, whereas mine went the opposite direction.

I used to call a soft drink pop, now I call it soda. Car-mul became Kara-mel.

They missed some really good ones on there like Wash being pronounced "warsh", even in popular names, yell being "holler", and some others.

My mom says pop, warsh, and car-mul...I used to talk like her, but probably around high school age I started saying soda. Warsh drives me insane, I give her hell every time she says it.

I don't want to make this a political thread, but it's always interesting to examine the way politicians will purposefully alter their dialect according to where they are.

A great example is to examine Hillary Clinton's speech patterns as FLOA compared to them now.
