I'm shopping for a 52" LCD WS HDTV. Need advice.
Here's the one that establishes the Criteria:
http://www.samsclub.com/shopping/nav...=5&item=403233 Phase 2 of the researc = Finding other viable brands that measure up to this in quality and features while less expensive. Is there such an animal that you can recommend? (No less than 1080p, 120 Hz) |

Go to Sears.
I have a Samsung 52" LCD HDTV 120Hz Previously I had a Samsung 42" DLP HDTV...DONT GO WITH DLP...Too many chances of the color wheel or lamp going out either both at once or one at a time. $300.00 parts/labor for each part. I scrapped the DLP and went straight to LCD. Guitar Hero: Metallica looks badass on it. NEVER GO WITH BEST BUY! |

I would also take a long look at the LED. Go to Best Buy and compare the picture between the LCD's and Plasma's vs. the LED. You will notice the difference.

My customer produced massive displays in 12 or 16" panels of LED's making them completely modular. As opposed to replacing an entire CRT or an entire screen like an LCD, you could simply replace a small panel of LEDs. |

Yep, it is. I paid $2100 for 52" Sony LCD, but the picture is beautiful. Better than the Samsung imo.

Samsung, Sony, Panasonic or Sharp. I would also spend the extra $$$$ and buy the LCD 240hz if you watch a lot of sports and or movies. If you can't afford the 240hz, at least buy the 120hz...it's worth it! We have a 55" Samsung LCD 240hz and it is just awesome!!!! We also have a 42" Sharp Aquos LCD 120hz in our bedroom...great tv too!

I own a Sharp Aquos 32" 1080p for the bedroom, Samsung Touch Of Color 46" 1080p 120hz for the living room, and a Sony Bravia 40" 1080p for another bedroom.
They are all great tvs, but i'd put the Samsung at the top easily with quality and picture, then the Sharp, and Sony last. None of them disappoint. |

I am preparing a wall in the new addition for this TV. The addition won't be complete for another couple of months yet. So I can take my time a bit. Do HDTVs drop in price like other electronics?
