This is why I would like McCourty changed back to CB.

He played CB, I got him to play CB, therefore, I'd rather not suffer any degradation at all by having him listed as a FS.

If he's that good, he'll still be good as a CB. And this guy thinks he's a better safety than cornerback, so a degradation is reasonable: http://www.nepatriotsdraft.com/2012/...at-safety.html

Why is it reasonable? The Patriots picked and chose where he played CB last season (which was half the time), so I'm a little frustrated I can't do the same. He was also a CB the two years prior.

Yes, but I'd rather not suffer any penalty for playing him at CB.

He's a CB. He was drafted as a CB and has spent most of his career as a CB.

Same thing as my guy, Larsen played guard until last season where he played some center. When I first got this team he was even listed as a guard now he switched to center for some reason.

Sorry, but it's not feasible or defensible for us to make determinations about who can play where on a case by case basis. While some determinations may seem easy, it leads us down a path to making subjective judgments that are time-consuming and arguable. Maybe C.J. Spiller can play WR without degradation, but if we agree to that then someone else will argue the same for Jamaal Charles and Vernon Davis. And then if we do it for Davis, someone else will start advocating for the same thing for Martellus Bennett or Tony Moeaki. And then it'll be mentioned that Julius Peppers could play anywhere in the front seven. We don't want to get sucked into that, and trust me, if McCourty is good enough to play CB and S well in the NFL, he can also do it in the SandboxFL.

The mystery gets to add a little suspense to the offseason anyway. Maybe some day we'll get the data developed to a point where degradation is lower if the person actually played in the second position, and that's reasonable. But we aren't there yet and it's not in our control.

I'll admit that it is a little dramatic to see how player are going to be classified. I've got Dwight Freeney on one of my teams and find it odd that he's classified as an OLB. I'm counting on that to not change, but if it does it's not going to be a huge issue. It'll just annoy me a bit.

Yeah, I was going to ask for Robert Turner to be re-classified as a G because he started the season at G and only played C as an injury replacement. He even ended the season at G. In the end, he took almost the same # of snaps at both positions but started and ended the season playing G, playing C only in the case of injury so the Rams clearly thought of him as a G.

At the same time, I completely understand Rainman and CD needing to limit the amount of custom decisions they make. Afterall, this isn't designed for 20 people playing, it's being designed for potentially tens of thousands.

As such, I'll just play Turner out of position as needed and hope our find programmers have set this up to where he plays it competently.

So can someone help me out with the complexities of the game. How important is the gameplan? If your running back has a bunch of carries does that affect his performance? I am trying to set up my game planning, also what about d-line obviously you want a rotation right? Just a few tips for us new players.

If you overwork a RB one season, it will affect his performance in future seasons.

Your defensive line will also play better if it's fresher, so it's a good idea to give your backups some snaps.

Last season I also found value in changing my gameplan up from time to time.

In the first game against Anchorage I went blitz heavy and Alex D. Smith made me pay for it dearly.

In the second game I was a lot more conservative on defense and shut that overrated turd down.

He'll show up in your game plan once we take him off the injury list.

What happened is that SD put him on IR in August, then cut him the next day. Then they brought him back in October. He'll be available to you the remainder of the season, after he rejoined SD.

I'm waiting for all these issues to shake out over the next day or so and then I'll fix all of the issues at once.
