If we bring in Reid I hope we get a quality GM who is better at evaluating college talent and calls the shots. Reports are that Reid's selections weren't very good.

That hire would scare the crap out of me.

If he comes to KC, most of his history is with a 2-gap 3-4. I would not be happy if we make an Andy Reid hire, and end up sticking with our obsolete defense. Which is a definite possibility.

This is actually a very good point and should not get lost.

Clark knows what the **** he's doing. And he gets to keep Pioli on a leash while doing it, which has to be ****ing satisfying.

"OK, I want you to talk to this schmuck, and tell me if you can work with him."

"No."

Also take this into consideration...

Andy Reid will likely be choosing Kolb+whoever is left at 7th overall over Geno Smith.

The guy KNOWS its all about the quarterback.

I think Chip Kelly would be an idiot not to sit down with us in Kansas City, this team is such a good fit for the way he's going to want to run things, assuming we shitcan our puppet Pioli sometime soon and get his mere presence out the door.

I'm also hanging on to hope of the Ferentz rumors somehow gaining some weight, I'd love him to come here more than anyone else, but he's honestly going to be the hardest College coach to snag, period. He's got way too much security and reason to stay at Iowa, and it isn't because he couldn't be a big time coach in the NFL.

I did chuckle a little bit when Saban rumors ran for about 3 hours and then got shot down :P

We certainly have a pretty comfy job, but we lack the prestige many other teams carry with them, which is probably why we landed Herm and keep failing at landing guys like Cowher, Billick, and Ferentz anytime their names get tossed into the ring of coaches who might come to the NFL and our vacancies are always near the top of the list, yet nothing happens.

And yes, I do think we'll have a shot at Chip Kelly, may not be the greatest shot, but I think the chance is there.

Peyton Manning left Denver and interviewed with other teams before coming back and deciding on Denver. I don't know why people bring him up. It's really not that absurd for guys to make a few rounds and listen to a few different offers. I would be more surprised if that didn't happen.

I have seen absolutely nothing from Geno Smith this season that screams "Franchise QB".

IMO, from what I've seen, he's just a guy.
