Foxnewsing Teapeople: Time to face facts & work with us

Shock waves of disbelief are rocking their way through rightwing world after election night smacked Foxnewsing Teapeople in the face. Shocked disbelief because after being lied to for so long, reality has run them over like a raging freight train. But its not a bad thing - its a wakeup call. Come out of the bubble, look around at the brave new world, realize that:

*Ohio really did go to President Obama last night. And he really did win.

*He really was born in Hawaii.

*He really is legitimately President of the United States. Again.

*The Bureau of Labor Statistics did not make up a fake unemployment rate last month.

*The Congressional Research Service really can find no evidence that cutting taxes on rich people grows the economy.

*The polls were not skewed to oversample Democrats.

*Nate Silver was not making up fake projections about the election to make conservatives feel bad. Nate Silver was doing math.

*Climate change is real.

*Rape really does cause pregnancy sometimes.

*Evolution is a thing.

*Benghazi was an attack ON us, it was not a scandal BY us.

*Nobody is taking away anyone's guns.

*Taxes have not gone up.

*The deficit is dropping.

*Saddam Hussein did not have weapons of mass destruction.

*The moon landing was real.

*FEMA is not building concentration camps.

*UN election observers are not taking over Texas.

*Moderate reforms of the regulations on the insurance industry and the financial services industry in this country are not the same thing as Communism.

I mean CNN has that British Labor Party bloke from England.
That is a big difference between MSNBC and Fox. Maddow and Mathews claim to be journalists and not commentators.

I think one of the left's problems is they're funneling all the different kinds of right-wingers they don't like into the same group.

Bible-thumpers = tea people
Birthers = tea people
Racists = tea people
Alex Jones conspiracy types = tea people
Irrational name callers = tea people
People who want lower taxes = tea people
Neo-cons = tea people

Is there a single type of Republican the left would NOT label a tea partier? Moderate democrats? Are they tea people?

These debates are ridiculous. Who cares what any of them call themselves. They all present information and then comment on it. The "present information" part should be fact-based and not misleading. That's where the Fox personalities come up short.

That is where the folks at MSNBC come up short.

All of the folks we are talking about are biased commentators, period. You're problem is that you want to classify the Fox commentators differently.

O'Donnell
Mathews
Schultz
Maddow

are equal to

O'Reilly
Hannity
Greta

None of them are journalist. You should not be relying on any of them for facts. They offer opinions and points of view. You should filter those opinions and points of view, compare them to the facts, and make your own judgement. No one in their right mind should be taking anything any of these commentators say at face value. Your bias clearly shows in your staunch defense of MSNBC....they are liberal commentators, just admit it and move on.

At the same time, mnchiefsguy, not all commentators are created equal. John Starks and Michael Jordan were both shooting guards in the NBA, but one was considerably more reliable than the other if you catch my drift.

That said, I really have no problem lumping six of those folks together, but Maddow is genuinely a different class than the rest of them. If you watched her show more regularly you'd get that.

She's essentially the left's George Will with a TV show.

We will have to agree to disagree. I see nothing special about Maddow. Last time I saw her on MSNBC, she was having such a lovefest with Dan Rather it was almost sickening. She was bashing Romney, basically calling him evil and a liar. If you were blindfolded and did not know who she was, you would swear she was an Obama campaign director. She has never reported anything in a non-partisan manner.

She is not in the same league as George Will, not even close.

If you want the other side to work with you you don't use words like "Foxnewsing Teapeople" or even derogatory terms like "Tea Baggers." This is what needs to stop on both sides. However, terms like "socialist" is fair if it describes those kinds of policies.
Shut up teabagger and go make a man a sandwich.

My use of derogatory moniker has obfuscated the purpose of this post, instantly devolving discussion into the mendacity of the FOX News "Fair & Balanced" slogan - my bad. But seriously, folks - many conservatives were hoodwinked into believing that the polls were skewed in favor of Dems. And that Nate Silver used fuzzy math to overestimate Obama's chances of winning. Post-election analysis shows that the polls were dead on. Nate Silver's predictions were dead on (I believe with the exception of one congressional seat in North Dakota that went Dem?). Many conservatives were completely shocked that polls proved accurate and math is still math - they were terribly misinformed about both.

This anti-math & anti-science bias extends misinformation into many other areas. Many conservatives were convinced that the Bureau of Labor Statistics "cooked the books" to fool us into thinking that 171,000 jobs were created just before the election & that the number would be revised downward. It was revised upward.

Because the conservatives who were fooled can now see that they were grievously misinformed, this is a fine time for introspection - to look at other areas to which that misinformation might extend. Like the veracity of Obama's birth certificate. And climate science. And the components that comprise the deficit, etc., etc.. I believe that a philosophical gravitation towards math & science & reality will result from such introspection. And that liberals & conservatives will find themselves standing upon ground far more common than was the case before these reality checks were forced upon us by post-election analysis.

You take egalitarianism way too far. Of course they're not equal—nor should they be. That way there's something for different market demographics. You just want control of the message. Typical of commies.

You guys are not discerning that good, bad or better and worse are a matter of opinion but argue them as facts.
