I loved Wally right up until the buzzer sounded Saturday night. Then I thought about what he could have brought to the game. He might have been able to battle those clowns on the boards and get a few stickbacks.

Instead he sulked and caused more distress for the team by being a whining biotch. And this is while he was playing with one of the best on court leaders this university has ever had. If you can't learn from that, WTF good are you?

Forgot about Nino. And I have absolutely no clue who will slide in behind Jam at the 4.

Can DP make a jump this offseason? Wasn't he the NY player of the year when he was in high school? Maybe with more minutes he can grow through the season?

I'm wondering where we will rank in the Big 12(10), also. UK and Texas will float up top, even if they lose players to the NBA and graduation. Iowa State should have some solid players. Then... us? 4th? 5th?

Sherron Collins is not a NBA player and neither is Pullen. I can almost guarantee Pullen will have the longer, more successful basketball career, though.

I don't think we'll see Nick or Juevol back. Just a hunch.

I expect to see a JC guard and another Big.

PG - Angel/Southwell/Will
SG - Irving/D. Pete (walkon)/JC Recruit
Wing - McG/Nino/Omari Lawrence/Southwell
PF - Jamar/Gipson
5. JO/Diaz/?

Really need another BIG, preferably one who can face up to the basket - ala CK. Other than Jamar, the other 3 bigs are back to the basket types.

I'd be surprised if Will isn't starting at the beginning of the year. Coach will want to establish a certain mentality (defense, taking charges, unselfish, etc.) and that's Will's strength.

Unfortunately, I don't think we'll see a real shooting guard until the 2012 Class - hopefully, Shawn Smith.

We don't really have one right now, that's for sure. I think we are going to absolutely struggle to score next year. Rodney is the guy who has the ability to really light it up, but has yet to show that he can effectively take it inside - he has very pedestrian handles. Irving's best attribute is his ability to muscle up and take his shot inside. He's got to work bettter to be a more effective scorer with his jumper. He also needs to be a hell of a lot better on D.

There's always the chance that Nick could make it back, but it seems very unlikely at this point. I've talked to too many people that absolutely think he is gone. Myles just has never "got it". Could he be back? Sure, but the tea leaves suggest otherwise. Jamar....dude has got to pick it up. His game was so bad this year, that he was generally the last option on Offense. His best bet is to FORGET shooting the ball from beyond the arc (totally ****ed up his game this year), concentrate on getting bigger and stronger, and be a 4 that can effectively face up and take his man off the dribble. If he could become a +50-55% shooter (he shot 41% this year! He shot 54% his Soph season and 51% his FR season), he could be the difference maker we are seeking for next year. He has to get better at finishing. He killed us most of this year with his weak shit around the basket.
