How about AFC West, KC?
I know it sounds crazy, but stranger things have happened. And I never thought I'd hear myself say this, I'd welcome him back with open arms. Not my first choice mind you, but infinitely preferable to Clueless Magoo. ------------------ Gary |

How about this:
HC - Kurt OC - Marty ST - Stock (I'm sure that punt off the head was just a fluke) DC - Gun, Shaw, and CP's nephew Cletus |

Are you rooting for an 0-16 season mlyonsd?
That lineup didn't inspire any confidence either. Seriously I wonder what people would think if somehow, someway Marty ended up back in KC? ------------------ Gary |

Of the cities mentioned I think Buffalo, Atlanta and Cinci are the most likely candidates. Of those three I'm hoping for Atlanta.
I don't want Marty in the AFC if we can help it. He reeks in the post season but he's deadly in the regular season. And Cinci and Buffalo aren't that far away from being contendas. |

Gary,
I didn't like the Marty hire the first time around, never liked Marty while he was here, and was not unhappy when he quit. We got exactly what I expected from Marty coached teams, and I want more than that. the milkman probably in the minority |

Marty wouldn't couch under someone like Snyder in D.C. or Mike Brown in Cincy. I could see him in Buffalo or Chicago. Indy & Atlanta could be possibilities but playing in dome doesn't seem like his style. Coughlin will probably stay put in Jacksonville. My money would be Marty going to Buffalo if there's an opening.

I know this isn't concrete but I think I read somewhere that Reeves is coming back next year to Atlanta to honor his contract.
I don't think the Cleveland scenario is that far fetched. |

Lompoc Brave,
I was a fan of Marty's at first but got tired of him as time wore on. Now I look back on him in a little different light and personally I would be less upset with him coming back than I'm going to be when they announce Gun is staying. Of course I don't think for a second that will happen, I was thinking out loud mostly. On the other hand, IF Gun gets fired and IF Marty and Carl have a good relationship, (which I don't know if they do or they don't) I wouldn't be totally shocked if it did. Marty left on his own terms and may feel like he wants to come back and prove somthing. Ego can be a powerful thing at times. ------------------ Gary |

I could see Martyball playing very well in the Windy City. Much more than the crazy crap they are doing there now. Marty is perfect for real Chicago Bear football.

Gary,
I would more upset about Marty being rehired than Gun coming back. With Goonther, one more bad season, he'd probably be fired, and I think we'd finally see the Chiefs at least attempt to move forward. If Marty came back, I could envision 10 more years of heartbreak. Just call me the milkman still mending earlier broken hearts |

BUFFALO is where Marty will be next year. They fired their G.M. today and Wade Phillips is on shaky ground. Marty would be a good fit there IMHO.

Lompoc Brave,
My best guess is we're stuck with Gun for at least one more year. My thoughts about Marty were more to stir up debate, not a real belief that will happen. Is Marty no longer under contract to KC now? ------------------ Gary |

Gary, good question about Marty. Does anyone have "official" information about what he "owes" the Chiefs?<P>
