Stanford Routt Satisfaction Poll?

He was going to be the Chiefs' biggest liability in the secondary.
Through 3 games, he's probably been their best DB.

I never said that. He's not the main reason for anything other than he stinks and gets beat like a drum more than not.

Sadly there is much worse on this team. Like that crappy ass FS behind him.

I think SR is about the least of our worries.

We lack good players on the defensive line, and we lack good players in the secondary.

Throw in MedioCrennel, and it's no mystery.

What PFF does is not even relevant to my contributions to this thread. I've never even shared what I think of him overall. I kinda want to see him play more than 6 games. I'm not wrong at all about the 2 plays I've discussed in this thread. Every CB in the league or to have ever played has been "victimized" similarly. It's not anything he should hang his head about.

I agree he shouldn't hang his head about either of those plays. He just got beat by a better player. It happens.

I agree with this. Where we disagree is I think he is overall just not a good CB. I think you are waiting for a bigger sample size and willing to defend him a little more as not fully wanting to call him bad. I am assuming when he his awful for an entire 16 game sample season you will finally warm up to the idea that he stinks in the overall scope of things.

I do agree he is more talent than most of the starters on this team though, which is sad.

I look at the whole picture. He was brought in at 5-6 million per and he should play like being paid that. Pioli brought him in to either upgrade or keep the position the same post Carr. And it's essentially a massive downgrade, not even a lateral move in terms of talent. While still forking over 20 million. How about using 20 million for once and bringing in an actual FA talent. That would be wonderful. In 4 years that has yet to happen.

I don't even disagree that he's not good. I haven't made up my mind yet. It's hard to focus on this guy when the whole team is so bad. I was simply defending him on those two plays because somebody bumped this thread right after the first TD and then the negativity continued after he batted a ball in perfect coverage which ended up as a long catch as well. He's not really on my radar aside from those 2 plays so far.

i didnt bump the thread either. i just quoted that one guy laughing at the irony and then as the game went on the bad luck for Routt piled one. I essentially knew that PFF would grade him negatively to the point where he would be a lower tier CB in the league using their analytics.

And since people love to jerk off that website for once it works in my favor. Because people praise PFF when it hyped up Tamba and DJ last season and they praise it when it makes Justin Houston the best OLB in the league.

But I just hate how they ignore it because how dare PFF actually grade out a guy on the Chiefs for being shitty. How dare they.

I think part of the reason Routt is being graded poorly is because our safety play is an abomination. And has been for 4 years. Pioli has done an awful job of upgrading from Page and Pollard. Kendrick Lewis is essentially Jarrad Page with dreadlocks and a bum shoulder. And thats unacceptable

How bad is Stanford Routt?

Only 4 CBs have allowed more yards.

Only 1 CB allows more yards per reception.

No one has allowed more yards after catch.

QBs have a 111.9 rating throwing at him.

He's struggled the last couple weeks. No question.
He's been inconsistent at best.
