TRich is our RB.

But they need to stick with him. All RB's get stopped for no gain every now and then, even the great ones. So they need to show some balls and stick with the guy. He will break some long runs.

Both T-Rich and Moreau impressed me. Bennett had 6 carries too many. Cloud is nice as a change of pace, but keep the first two mentioned in there.

I just posted this on another thread but I'll say it again. What kills me is they rotate backs so often that no one is able to establish any timing. TRich looked good and his numbers were solid. Then Bennett, then Kimble for 2 plays, then Monreau for 3. This isn't back by situation this is back by crap shoot. That pass to Bennett in the flat, while it worked today for a nice gain, still dumbfounds me. Shouldn't those passes go to little fast guys ala Kimble, Cloud?

Yeah, I like Moreau as well, but I still think TRich should get 75% of the carries.

Moreau should get his shot later IMO.

But you're right, the only two backs who should even touch the ball are TRich and Moreau.

Another thing I'm concerned about is Anders as our backup FB. He's down to 218, or so, which is too light for my liking at FB. And he dropped a catchable pass today too. It could be time to bring up Gall from the practice squad and cut ties with Anders. I don't care what sentimental value we have for him, if T-Rich is our HB, we need two good, reliable FBs. Anders was good, but I worry about his size. And his age is the determining factor for me.

It's almost as if they made the switch to avoid giving the ball to Tony. I was screaming at my TV early on. What the fuck was KC doing giving Bennett so many touches for? I'm of the impression that KC players are good enough to compete in the league, but boneheaded coaching and playing practices have continued to kill this club.

Also, as bad as the ST's were today they were still better than last year. Although me and my drinking buddies would be better than last year.

I think it's premature to cut Anders.

He did drop a pass, but that's hardly reason to cut him. I'd keep him on the roster for depth.

BTW, Cloud was terrible at returning kicks.

Yeah, I noticed today that Anders doesn't really have a place in this offense. There was one play called for him, which he dropped. He was thrown out there at a strange time for 2 or 3 plays and was never really given a shot. Anders is our Larry Centers and is not used effectively by the Stooge Jimmy Raye.

I like Anders, but I wasn't comfortable with him out there at FB. I don't know how much the weight would really affect his blocking, but I was worried. He looks small out there.

Cloud's KR's were bad. get well soon, Dante.

Az,
Can you name one player that is used effectively by Moe Raye?
Dropped passes, poor decisions by Grbac, the int. return were all contributing factors to the loss, but the two factors that stood out, IMO, were coaching, and the continued use of the SitCom.

TRich averaged 4.46 yards per carry in this game on 13 attempts.

Moreau averaged 5 yards per carry on three attempts.

Cloud averaged 2.5 yards per carry on 2 attempts.

Agree with Cannibal that T-Rich and Moreau should start. KA did drop a pass, albeit a poorly thrown pass behind him. What I did see from KA was some good blocking. Bennett has shown nothing since last year; bring up #47 (Gall) from the PS.
Yes, we made mistakes today, but give credit to a great Colts team. Pass protection was superb, as was run blocking. Manning is arguably the best QB playing right now. EJ is EJ, and Harrison was consistently open. They picked us apart, and hopefully the young (and old) guns learned from the school of hard knocks. The D was on the field alot, thanks in part to the failure of our O to capitalize on turnovers from the D. Sauerbrun did botch two punts that could've pinned the Colts deep, but he's still a far cry better from last year. And although Atkins was penalized for hitting #28 too soon on the one punt (his timing was less than 1/2 second too early), I have a feeling that that Gun probably praised the aggressiveness.
Hopefully they'll take the lessons learned into Nashville next week, along with FIGURING OUT A WAY TO DEFEND THE @$#% SCREEN!
