Just as Geno Smith didn't suddenly become worthy of the #1 overall pick after today, Joe Flacco didn't suddenly enter into the franchise QB discussion because he won a SB.

He was always more than solid. At some point pretty quickly, the numbers don't lie.

He played well enough to get to a SB last year, and some unlucky shit happened. This year, some lucky shit happened, and he took advantage of the opportunity and won the damn thing.

That's the thing about elite talent; it normalizes variables over a large enough sample size.

Two firsts for Flacco this instant? Done. Yesterday.
