Tailgating and Arrowhead questions

Hello Chief fans. Next Sunday the 13th me and two friends are driving down from Canada to come and watch the Raiders play at Arrowhead. This will be all of our first NFL experiences so I just have a few questions that hopefully can be cleared up for me.

Tailgating: I have heard absolutely zero negative things about tailgating at Arrowhead, so we want to get the full experience. After the game is there a time limit for how long your car can remain in the parking lot? None of us will likely be in good enough shape to drive so are we allowed to leave our car there until later or is there a time limit? If there is a time limit we will not be able to bring our car. If we cant is there an option for pitching if for food and eating somewhere else before the game. I don't know the ins and outs of tailgating so any info would be greatly appreciated.

During the Game: We are sitting in section 131, and even though I watch a fair amount of chief games on Sunday ticket I can never tell if people stand for the whole game at Arrowhead. Is standing for the whole game allowed? Only on defense? Only during big plays? Any info with this would be awesome as well.

Thanks for the help and maybe well see some of you next weekend.

Go Chiefs!

There is usually a lot of standing. I don't know if they kick people out of the parking lots after the game. Hopefully someone else can answer that. Great roadtrip, enjoy the Arrowhead Experience

We sit in section 123, and we stand just about the entire game.

We have a three hour drive after the game, so I've never stayed to see how long people stay. Since you're planning on getting drunk and staying drunk through the game, I would suggest not driving.

The crowd will be standing most of the time.

As for tailgating, bring your own, or pre-plan joining someone else. If you go in with no plan wanting to tailgate you may end up disappointed.

I will be near you in section 130, they are opening the gates at 7:30, at which time we will already be in line so we can get that grill fired up.

Sometimes people stand up a lot. For this reason and because it provides a better viewing angle I prefer the higher levels. That being said there is not a bad seat in arrowhead.

Wear red. You will have the best time of your life. If you have beer, fellow tailgaters will let you join in the fun. Draw straws to see who gets to drive. Harass any and all Raider fans.

You forgot to say pummel the new raider mascot.

He just looks like an easy target.

The code words to identify fellow CPers are antifreeze, aids tree, and PIIHB.

Also, where are you staying? Arrowhead is not close to much so if you want your coolers/food/grill/chairs/etc you will need your vehicle. I don't think the buses will let you pack all that stuff. DD or switch to water at halftime. BTW, all the Canadians I know are excellent drunk drivers, if you fall into this category and you aren't planning on going to Kansas you don't have much to worry about. KCMO cops are pretty cool.

It's tradition to find fans of the opposing team, surround them, and dance around them for a few minutes. Everyone does it.

They're usually pretty lenient about staying after the game. You can get away with 3+ hours after the game is over at least.

If you guys are drinking, you damn sure better have a DD. Don't risk it, there's too many people out there to be driving shitfaced.

So my recommendation would be to figure out a DD and get there as early as possible and enjoy it all.

Standing just depends on your section. Some sections stand the entire time. Some sections get pissy if a small group is standing and no one else is. Just go with the flow and don't be an asshole, and you'll do just fine.
