Why do you have to add "@gmail.com or @yahoo.com when you log into your email account. I'M LOGGING INTO GMAIL, WHY WOULD I PUT ANYTHING ELSE?

Actually, that shouldn't be the case - Gmail ignores dots in account names, so you could use either of those interchangeably.

Related protip - you can add a plus to the end of your account address and it'll ignore anything after that (before the @). For example, you can do things like firstnamelastname+spam@gmail.com as your registration for suspect sites and filter those into a special folder to keep them separate.
