***Official Draft Tyler Wilson Thread****

...might as well get this started early.

Perhaps his injury well allow him to slip to the middle of the of the 1st round,..where we tend to draft.

I don't like the Geno idea. Wilson is mobile, smart and tough as nails with an accurate gun.
If there is anyone to compare his scrambling abilities to, it would be Aaron Rodgers. Pass first, eyes down the field at all times, but occasionally runs when presented with no other options (mostly on 3rd down).

Geno isn't a running QB.

Geno is MUCH more like Wilson than he his any of the other QBs you listed.

I agree. It's hard to know what the scouts think but, when you take your opinion and mix it with the analysts, you can draw your own conclusions. The bottom line is that I should have said "in my opinion."

Reid's "system" was custom-tailored to fit Donovan McNabb. Geno is much closer to McNabb than Wilson is. I see this one completely different than you do.

I'm not just looking at McNabb. I am looking at Favre, McNabb, Vick, AJ Feely, etc. Wilson is closer to all of those guys than Geno. He is faster than Geno, more agile than Geno, and more elusive than Geno imo. He is also better at the bootleg than Geno and Reid runs that quite a bit.

Wilson is a better fit in the pure WCO, Geno is a better fit in REID'S particular offense.

I disagree. The way Reid runs the ball is very similar to the way Arkansas does. The air raid offense is mostly made up of comebacks, curls, and crossing routes. Sometimes it does require the ball to be forced down the field but, it is not complex at all. Wilson's playbook was much bigger, much more pro like, and much more like Reid's. He will have a much better understanding Reid's offense from day one.

Don't agree.

Geno makes one read 90% of the time. That is a fact and it is easy to see in the film. It's the same problem Dysert and Nassib have. It will probably be the biggest knock on him throughout the process.

Vehemently disagree.

Major? Don't think so. But yes, his footwork will be analyzed thoroughly in the coming weeks. It is a concern.

Geno's footwork problem has plagued him over his entire college career. I think you will see soon enough.

There's a reason you're in the minority here and I'll leave it at that.

I'm ok with the minority. I stand by these opinions. Wilson is a cleaner prospect right now. Geno has better God Given tools but he's not where Wilson is just yet.
my 10 cents.

Wilson is as much of a runner as Steve Young or Tarkenton were for example. He's not Vick or Kapernick but, he is similar to McNabb. Geno is a pocket QB and that's why I feel Wilson fits Reid's system better.

Black QB doesn't equal running QB.

Geno Smith played out of the pistol in college, but out of a wide-open, passing attack. The zone read was not used. Geno Smith as a run-first option was not used.

No offense bud, but do you know, how I know, you haven't watched film on Geno?

He's just not as tested against college's best defenses. I think he's a huge risk... far more than Tyler. Obviously, any pick is a risk and this is speculation. But being tested against the highest competition in college football goes a long way. He had good success against Alabama's defense as a junior and we almost beat them. He was hurt and didn't play against Alabama as a Senior. I'm telling you, I believe we will seriously regret it if we don't take this kid.

Steve Young was one of the fastest players in the entire draft the year he came out. Wilson has some athleticism, but come on -- he's no Steve Young. Not even close.

Watch some tape. take the Texas Tech game for example. He makes one read 90% of the time and locks onto the WR. If he makes a second read, he almost always panics and blindly throws it to the deep WR. That won't cut it in the pros.

it's what I see man. When I watch QB tape, the first time I watch it I only watch the QBs head.
