The game won't be on the local station (they're showing the Ravens-Redskins game, I think). I'm going to watch it at Gamekeepers, a sports bar which is at Armitage (2000 North), Lincoln (a diagonal street) and Sheffield (400 East). That's a nice 3 mile stroll from the center of the Loop (downtown), so taking a cab there won't be that expensive. You could also take the Brown Line (an elevated train that serves the loop) to the Sheffield stop and then walk a half-mile north to get there. I usually take the Brown line there and then walk back to the Loop afterward (helps me work off all that nervous energy from watching the Chiefs).
Another option is the ESPN Zone, which is just north of the Loop. I'm not sure of the exact address, but it's easy walking distance from the Loop, the Magnificent Mile, Rush Street, etc. I've never been there because I think you have to have reservations or something in order to be absolutely certain that you'll see the game you want. (Otherwise, you're stuck with whatever games are on in the "no reservations" area of the Zone, from what I understand. I imagine the Raiders-Chiefs game will be popular enough, however, that it'll be viewable from there.) Gamekeeper's has all the games and, in fact, usually has the Chiefs on 2 or 3 different TVs, so they're a sure thing. |

Hooters is not a bad place to go either. They normally have all the games on at least one of the several tv's in the joint. I live in Denver and that is where I will have to go because they are not showing it here. Damn I will be surrounded by all those donkey fans.

I wish someone would explain to me how the Ravens/Skins game is more significant than the Chiefs/Raiders. Anyway, as always, here's a great big fuck YOU to the programming scumbags who deny me the pleasure of watching this game in my own home.
I will personally be watching the game at Flanagan's near North Chicago. There is a semi-pro team that plays in this area called the Lake County Chiefs, whose uniforms are identical to our Chiefs except they have "LC" in the arrowhead. They are sanctioned by the real Chiefs, and as a result are Chief fans. A lot of them hang out at this bar and watch the games, so it is as close to a homer environment as I can get. Next year I'll have a house and a dish. Cable sucks. DEATH TO OAKLAND! ------------------ Frazod Have I ever mentioned that I hate Denver?
