I think everyone knows he isn't always precise with his words, so it wouldn't be hard to believe that he meant electronic surveillance, including but not limited to old-fashioned wiretaps.

I never thought Trump literally meant tapping the physical wires. I assumed that was just obfuscation by Sean Spicer to try to draw attention away from the fact that Trump had ZERO evidence to back up any claim of electronic surveillance.

There were a couple of Democrats (Martin O'Malley and William Weld) that I would have liked to see take a run at it, but they saw the handwriting on the wall early on, and they got out.

I don't think anybody has any idea what's going to happen in 2020 with the Democrats. All I know is they desperately need some fresh faces. Given the way people have rallied around Joseph Kennedy III after his speech about Trumpcare, he's certainly a possibility. There was a time when I would have immediately dismissed Kennedy as being far too young and woefully inexperienced for the job, but the times have obviously changed given the lack of experience of the last two Presidents. If he plays his cards right, Kennedy could turn out to be the next liberal hero.

We've had two President Bushes relatively recently, and we came very close to having two President Clintons. A second President Kennedy might not be a bad thing. It's certainly within the realm of possibility, if not in 2020, then in 2024.

Edit: I just looked at the Wikipedia page for Joseph Kennedy III. It said he has declined to run for Governor of Massachusetts in 2018 because he doesn't have any plans to run for another office, so he may not be a possibility after all.
They have been ****ing themselves for the last 8 years. Losing seats all over the country. A move back towards identifying with the blue collar worker and away from the elitest attitude would do them wonders but all I see at this point is them pointing fingers at everyone but themselves.

After watching the Dem's idea of what's fair during the election, and only regretting having been caught, not what they were doing, and knowing how they stood behind the likes of the Lois Learners and Lynch-types of the administration, only a fool would think those were their only underhanded acts.
