This has nothing to do with being a baseball guy. This has to do with being a rational thinker instead of overreacting to something that happens to every team when a closer has a bad game.

when I'm playing baseball on my playstation 3, I do have someone warming up at the slightest hint that my closer is looking off. If he puts it together and I don't need to relieve him, then no big deal. So, I might have managed this game differently.

However, baseball men who spend their whole lives working for MLB and get trusted with that role just don't do that. NONE of them do that, you can't point to any manager who would have done what you are asking for. Right or wrong, thats the way it is, in the 9th, the closer either saves the game, blows the save to a tie, or he loses.

I've seen closers get pulled. But that's not going to happen after they've blown away two straight hitters.
