Casting changes
Beverly Hills Cop...original casting changes...How would this movie be without Eddy Murphy???

Submit other changes that would have dramatically changed a 'blockbuster'...

Jerry Bruckheimer originally wanted Mickey Rourke in the lead role, but when he pulled out, it was offered to Stallone. Stallone personally rewrote the script. He removed all the elements of humor and had plans on turning the film into an action packed blockbuster. Due to budgetary constraints, Stallone and the producers went their separate ways. Stallone took his ideas from his rewrite and made the film Cobra. After Eddie Murphy was cast, script rewrites were made to repair the damage done by Stallone. In Beverly Hills Cop 2, there is a brief scene in which Axel Foley is looking at a poster from Cobra while talking on the phone.

I'd still like to see the footage they shot of Stoltz for BttF- they got 10 days of shooting in before he got replaced and I guess it's pretty funny / bizarre?

I believe Daniel Day-Lewis was originally wanted for Vincent Vega in Pulp Fiction... I would have liked to see that, but we wouldn't have had Travolta's comeback most likely, and probably no Face-Off.

Harvey Weinstein lobbied Tarentino that he wanted him to cast DD Lewis, but he never warmed up to the idea.

Originally, there wasn't a Vincent Vega character. Michael Madsen, who played Vic Vega in Reservoir Dogs, passed on doing Pulp Fiction, and instead chose to do Wyett Earp with Kevin Costner.
This became the spark for the creation of Vic's brother, Vincent Vega.

A Vega brothers movie has had an automatic greenlight outstanding since the release of Pulp Fiction, and Quinton has been interested in the idea, even teasing some pretty awesome ideas for the story from time to time. But, never enough to make the Vega movie over what his current project of interest is at the time. It was thought to be his next project after Inglorious Bastards, and then he just pulled a 180 after another idea popped into his head and become the focus for his next film...


That ship has most likely sailed unless he actually starts some actual preproduction on it within the next 2 or so years.
