ANyone else still want to TANK the season for a better draft pick?

Say the words, and join my ignore list:

"we should tank this season for a better draft pick"

*************************
Let this thread stand as a testimony to traitors
and cowards who, at a time of peril , chose to
abandon the fight and wish upon our great, and
holy Chiefs, to lose games and give up the fight.

By shunning them and making their words vanish
from the computer screen, we say unto them:

WE WILL WIN

We have not given up the will to fight. We are not
sackless, gutless weasels who run crying home to
mama to suck on her stretched out floppy teet
when times get rough.

We shun you, and your words are now gone from
our lives, never to waste our time or energy again.
We acknowledge that your only purpose is to troll,
and cause disharmony, and therefore the best way
to deal with you is to banish you from the pages of
history.

I can say this...

In the 2013 draft, there will be at least 4 GOOD quarterbacks worthy of a first round pick and that number can go as high as 6.

Seniors
Matt Barkley
Tyler Wilson
Geno Smith
Landry Jones

Underclassmen that may declare
Tyler Bray
Logan Thomas
Aaron Murray

Depending on the underclassmen, there might be a good option well into the late teens or even the early 20s.

Landry Jones looks to me like nothing more than a project. If Kirk Cousins went in the third, Jones looks like a 5th or 6th to me. I haven't seen the rest this year other than Barkley but Arkansas is a disaster. I'll see Geno Smith soon enough.

Anyway, it's FAR too early for this type of speculation.

What's different from last year's "Suck for Luck" is that (A) There really isn't a QB prospect like Luck to really go after and (B) Charles and Berry are healthy this year.

It just really pisses me off that as much as Cassel is dogshit, we really have no alternative to him at the moment. No Brady Quinn is not better than Cassel unfortunately, and you can blame all of that on Pioli, because he was supposed to improve the QB position and he hasn't.

The proof is in the pudding......This team isn't winning shit w/ ****tard Cassel.

I don't want to hear the Trent Dilfer or Brad Johnson arguments, they're the exception, not the rule. Plus we don't have one of the best defenses of all-time like the 2000 Ravens or 2002 Buccaneers. Just look at the last 20 SB winners in the past 2 decades. Other than the 2 exceptions, the teams that had 2 of the best defenses of all-time, each SB winner has had a great QB under center.

2011 Eli Manning
2010 Aaron Rodgers
2009 Drew Brees
2008 Ben Roethlisberger
2007 Eli Manning
2006 Peyton Manning
2005 Ben Roethlisberger
2004 Tom Brady
2003 Tom Brady
2002 Brad Johnson (exception)
2001 Tom Brady
2000 Trent Dilfer (exception)
1999 Kurt Warner
1998 John Elway
1997 John Elway
1996 Brett Favre
1995 Troy Aikman
1994 Steve Young
1993 Troy Aikman
1992 Troy Aikman

I don't have time for that type of nonsense.
That's fine. Whatever the original tone I wasn't as much trying to tell you to feel that way as trying to point out why some do. We also don't have control over whether they win or not, so all the line drawing of who is rooting for/against the team is not really worth the war its creating. I was just trying to point out why I feel those fearing change won't come want a trigger-event to force it to occur.

I don't blame people for not wanting to root against their team. However I also don't think its crazy that some feel a dramatic moment has to happen for Clark or Pioli to fix our biggest problem.

I'm not rooting for this team to "tank" the season. But I really don't see where winning a game like this HELPS the situation in KC.

I'm not into the whole perpetually 9-7 thing.

Washington showed last year that if you have a guy you want, you can simply go get him. Just have to pay the price.

The Chiefs will either be in a spot to take a QB with the class being deep with 1st round talent or they'll have to trade up to get a guy. I don't care how it happens. Just make it happen.

So in my mind it has little to do with how they play this year.

I don't know man. What makes you think there is one good QB? I'm not being a smartass but what have any of them done yet besides put up some nice stats?

None of those guys have proven themselves to be "field generals" just yet and that's what we need. We need a leader at QB.

This game was a fluke. A good team doesn't win on 6 FG.

They wouldn't trade up for RGIII or Tannehill, what makes you think they will this year? We have to literally have a franchise QB fall into our laps as Pioli does not seem to show any desire to actually go out and get one. The way it is looking this year is if we want an elite QB then he will have to be waiting for us when we pick meaning we will have to draft high and higher than other teams that need a QB.

I had fun watching us win, and I'm in the tank column.

Dane has a point too, not like anything we want, think, hope or can do about how/what the team does.

You're right. I don't know if they will be willing to make such a trade or not. But you know what? I don't care. I don't worry about it.

I've been pondering the thought for a while now that if the Chiefs don't pick a QB in the 1st next year, I might be done because that'll be the final sign their philosophy doesn't match mine and I'll be convinced they'll never go anywhere as long as they don't value the QB position.

So it's their choice on what they want to do (either trade up for a QB or take the best Ab available). I'm not worrying about it.
