What's your favorite wine?
For us wine drinkers, I'm curious about your favorite "drinking" wine (as in, something uner $15 a bottle).

I'm partial to the 2002 Hill of Gold Shiraz (Rosemont Estates) and the 2002 Coppola Premium Claret. Right now, I'm drinking a 2003 Coppola Zin.

The Earthquake Zin is my favorite of the moment. A little pricey for an everyday drinking wine at $25/bottle, but that entire line is very good. Don't think I've ever had a Michael David wine I didn't really enjoy.

You do tend to have to develop a taste for wine, and more so stuff that's not just really sweet on the palate. As I've been doing more tastings, my appreciation for the whites has also gone up considerably.

Good tip I received from my local wine shop. When buying 2011 vintages and to a lessor extent 2010 try and get them from extreme N Cal, Washington, and Oregon as there was way too much rain in Napa/Sonoma for good grapes.

Red Diamond is an excellent Washington state wine. Their Merlot is legit.

During my time living in San Fran and Silicon Valley, I went to Peju's winery at least 5 or 6 times. Really like their dessert wines.

I've been drinking a lot of Malbec's from Argentina, mostly Trapiche.

When I decide to drink white, I like a Sauvignon Blanc's from New Zealand like Nobilo or Kim Crawford
