Winston mad at the Fans

Arrowhead Pride ‏@ArrowheadPride

Eric Winston was very angry at the cheering when Cassel got hurt. Held court w/ the media for a few min about that in the Chiefs locker room

Everyone is crying over Cassel being booed, but what about Cassel's play putting the health of other Chiefs players in jeapordy? How many offensive players has Cassel injured (or almost injured) from his off target throws this season? How many years are being lost from Charles life as an NFL RB because the Chiefs have to run him 30+ times a game since Cassel can't complete a forward pass.

Cassel's play is putting his team mates in danger and that is FAR FAR FAR worse than a few fans booing him after he took a minor hit to the head.

It happened, it will blow over. Pretending it did not happen or making this some kind of media conspiracy orchestrated by Pioli or the sports media is ridiculous and simply making matters worse.

Those of us longtimers here know this happened before with Grbac. The loud protestations that this did not happen are not helping.
Look, I am not trying to justify anything. I have said from the beginning that this will blow over, and that if it doesn't, I don't give a shit what other fans think.

That being said, I do want to know if Ngata heard it for himself or if he reacted to what Winston said. Don't pretend like that's going to far to ask that question.

I love how these players can surmize what people were booing. Ever think people could be booing the Ravens for taking the cheap shot? Nah-there's story line in that. This entire story is a charade attempting to hide what is evident...the team sucks ass.

What an idiot he is. Philly booed both Noah and Irvin. That took about 2.4 seconds worth or research.

Mellinger did a nice job of explaining that the situation is being overblown. Added context for the fact that Quinn was entering at the same time.

Reporter from ATL ended the segment by tactfully blasting the hyperbole and hypocrisy of "outrage," noting how a much worse incident occurred in OAK in 1980, when the QB at the time broke his leg, triggering the start of the Plunkett run.

Sam was clear that it was a small minority, but still shamed the people who did it.

Joel Thorman from AP was a bit harsher, saying he was talking to people in the press box about the cheers.

As mentioned, the Ravens announcers discussed it on their broadcast.

I imagine this story will fade by tomorrow, but no apologies or retractions will be coming. And probably deservedly so, because there does seem to be something to it, small minority though it was.

I tweeted Scott Van Pelt telling him he should at least watch the tape before blasting KC fans and he admitted he hadn't watched it. He responded saying he was going off Winston's comments and "other people's insights".

Cool that he bothered to respond, but pretty lazy not to even watch the freaking tape.

RAC discussing Cassel's injury as if it could potentially be very serious.

My read: distinct possibility that Cassel lands on IR, only to return next season.

And Quinn does just enough to keep the Chiefs out of the QB sweepstakes.
