The country music repository thread
I've considered doing this for a long time but often figured I was the only one that cared. Kyle DeLexus' thread has shown me that's not the case.

If you have an appreciation for country music feel free to use this as a place to post videos, news, personal favorites lists, concert experiences and anything else country related. Old or new doesn't matter. Just have fun with it and ignore the haters.

Naturally I have to post the greatest country song of all time as a starter.

It seems that all the popular country songs are crappy artists telling everybody how cool it is to be "country". Goddamn I hate those ****ing songs. The whole lot of them. But in an attempt to expand my horizons and connect with the rest of country music fandom, I found a song in that vein that I don't despise with every fiber of my being.

I don't think I've posted this one. I heard it on the radio, and it's another one that I don't absolutely despise. Maybe it isn't any good, but seems he's at least singing with some humility and sincerity. Anyway, good on him for putting out a song that isn't "truck yeah".

So, my wife, bless her soul, must hate me. We were in the car for a trip and I was driving. There was't shit on the radio, so she was channel surfing for me, and finally found a country station that had a country song starting. She sits back and gets this goddamned smirk on her face.

Anyway, I was looking for the corner I needed to turn off, not really paying attention to the song. Until I hear the following lyrics. As an actual part of the song. I shit you not.

"Chew Tobacco.
Chew Tobacco.
Spit."

WHAT THE ****? I almost wrecked the ****ing car trying to get the channel changed before my brain started leaking out of my ears. Jesus ****ing Christ. Really? Chew tobacco chew tobacco spit? Mother****er people really buy these records? I weep for society.

Bottom line is, my wife had heard the song and knew what was coming. She thought it was funnier than hell when I heard the lyrics.
