***Official Knowmo2724 homer-2000 thread***

Very few non-bronco fans can tolerate him. he creates inane threads that are homeristic in nature (his avatar is very apropos), and nobody loves him (not even his own mother)

'face, this can be the home for all knowmo threads so we aren't treated to the bi-weekly steaming 'presents' left by the front door.

How you can take over as a rookie HC and the first thing you do is drive away your young franchise QB is something I will never understand. Knew right away McKid was playing grown-up and was in way over his hoodie.

I can't disagree with knowmo that it has worked out nicely in the end for Denver though.
Had the Broncos not been able to get Manning their starting QB would have been Tebow. I like the guy, but he has a long way to go to be an elite QB. They got rid of a young franchise QB (which the Chiefs fan base would kill for) for practically peanuts. Marshall was a head case no doubt, but he was an elite talent. In a QB driven league you don't get rid of a young franchise QB unless you can't resign him or you get a better young one to replace him. The players gained do not offset the loss of a franchise QB like Cutler, and that is without throwing in a Top 5-10 receiver like Marshall. Denver lost more than they gained. It is not as obvious because they ended up getting Manning.

The Donks also got Von Miller out of it in a roundabout way.

Hopefully Manning is the chosen one that Denver fans hope he is. How often does a team chance on a player of his caliber? The stars had to align just right in order for it to happen. Just because of that does not change the post I made nor does it change the fact that Denver lost those trades overall.

As the Broncos concluded minicamp, they did so knowing QB Peyton Manning had passed a major test in his recovery from neck surgeries by completing deep passes during OTAs and minicamp the last two weeks. "We don't think about the injury anymore and I'm not sure if he does, either," WR Brandon Stokley said.

No doubt there will be a mental component for Manning when the action goes live.

With QB Peyton Manning up to his usual pre-snap verbosity at the line of scrimmage, Denver's defense spent OTAs and minicamp trying to disguise everything it did. "Whenever we blitz, we show something different, and whenever we're in coverage, show blitz," MLB Joe Mays said. "We try to get him off his toes a little bit, but it never seems to work."

Maybe the Broncos should have hired Romeo Crennel as their DC if they wanted a defense that could keep Manning honest in practice.

A vet QB picking apart a bottom feeder defense that can't hit him? Shocking OMG!!!!! Shit he's probably got flashbacks to that playoff game at Arrowhead against G-Robs abortion of a D.

“Peyton tells me all the time he’s never worked with someone like me,” Thomas said. “I’ve watched a lot of film from his Colts' days to get some pointers. There really weren’t any of his receivers who were like me. ... I know Peyton is looking forward to it.”

“I think the sky is the limit for Demaryius. He’s big, he’s fast, he’s strong and he runs great routes for a big guy. And now he has Peyton. Really, the sky is the limit.”

Still, when the adjustments are made, Williamson thinks we will see fireworks.

“Manning and Thomas are two great players, and they certainly should be able to adjust,” Williamson said.

Thomas is determined to adjust.

“This is the greatest opportunity for me,” Thomas said. “I will make Peyton happy he’s playing with me.”
