Did you sign a contract? I would read the fine print first to see if they say they cant be held responsible for that kind of stuff.

I'm not sure why you just don't buy a flash drive and store all of your music on it as a backup?

Go in with a shotgun, I am sure they will come to a resolve fairly quickly.

No contracts although now I'm wishing there had been.

Wanna know how I know you're gay?
You're mad you're missing a band called "Queen" from your hard drive. |

First of all, let's establish that this music was obtained legally, correct?
Because if it wasn't, my advice would be to leave it all alone. I would think you have a case to make with the owner that he owes you a refund, up to the purchase price of the music you lost. It's one thing for them to lose files - that can happen during transfer and files do get corrupted. The fact they took it from one folder to several is another issue and one that is likely due to incompetence. The file format conversion issue then takes that incompetence to an ENTIRELY new level. |

Tough break. I have all of my digital music on my huge iPod, on a PC, backed up on a big external hard drive, and backed up again on a second, larger external hard drive.
