I finally stepped into the world of headset gaming (not the cheapo chat headsets).

Holy cow! I was playing BF4 and could hear footsteps so much better than I typically hear over speakers as well as directional gun fire. I could also hear a guy reloading behind a wall and took his ass out with C4.

My friend brought them over and they're apparently top of the line and cost $250 (Astro A50 or something like that). Are there other surround sound headset options that aren't that expensive?

I've seen good reviews on the Sony Gold Wireless headset for a hundred bucks.

I'm in the same boat, interested in getting a headset but not wanting to spend $250. Hopefully someone will come along in this thread and enlighten us poor souls on what the best sub $100 headset is....

Apparently EA is kicking themselves for taking the exclusive contract with Microsoft b/c the value of the contract pales in comparison to estimated PS4/PS3 sales.

Wonder what the terms of the exclusive contract are.

I just don't understand timed exclusives at all. If you want to be on both consoles the just be on both consoles.

I see MS throwing a shit ton of money as it gets closer and lock the game up.. The very least they get content first..

It is what Microsoft is known too do. Now they are becoming #2 though. They are about to lose Call of Duty, and I really doubt they will fork over what it will take to make Titanfall an exclusive.

Is halo going to playstation too? You are taking all of these "coulds" and believing that they are set in place when nobody knows. And lol @ you if you actually believe Microsoft could lose COD

They won't lose COD per say but there's a lot of rumors floating around that this year's COD will be heavily focused on the PS4 with marketing, DLC, timed exclusives, etc. like what we saw this year with Ghosts and the X-Box One. We're already seeing it with the PS4 and Watch Dogs and Destiny.

I bought the Gold Headset and love it.

The chat works perfectly and the sound profile is exactly what I wanted. People have complained about a lack of bass, which is certainly the case. I'm not using these to watch blockbuster movies. I need to hear what direction a tank is coming from or footsteps. When I first put them on my first reaction was HOLY SHIT!

The Gold's get a big ass jiveturkey thumbs up.
