Hill's best asset is his ability to win one on one matchups in space; he's so fast that teams have to play off him and so quick that he can utilized the cushion. Robinson oozes talent; a good frame and great burst. Every time the All-22s get reviewed, Robinson is beating his man far more often than not.

No, the problem is not the weapons. They're there and they're creating yards everywhere. Smith needs to un-**** himself quickly and find them.

This is absolutely an Alex problem.

Starting with the Pittsburgh game, the # of missed plays downfield due to Alex Smith 1) not seeing a wide open player, 2) his game manager tendencies kicking in and bypassing an open downfield player for a safer short pass/bubble screen, or 3) not having the arm strength/accuracy to capitalize on an opportunity in the downfield passing are killing the Chiefs offense.

Go ahead Alex Smith Apologists and blame the running game, offensive line, Andy Reid's playcalling, injuries/inconsistent WR play... but the main culprit for the Chiefs collapse on offense is Alex Smith reverting back to his mediocre play from last year.

He's gone back to 'old Alex' and cost the Chiefs 2 very winnable games as a result. These last two games are squarely at his feet, IMO.

It's beyond frustrating because there was just no cause for it. The most telling part was the fact that the delayed draw plays were getting wrecked. Why? Because we're right back to where we were last season with LBs and Safeties not respecting anything thrown over them. So they don't bail, the delay doesn't work on the hand-off and the entire box is waiting to swallow Hunt up.

And then the screen failures are obvious.

I had convinced myself that he'd played well enough for long enough that we could consider that a 'new normal' but it sure looks like he fooled the shit out of me. The last two games from Smith are as bad as anything we've ever seen from him, both in terms of process and execution.

It takes one drive to know exactly what Smith showed up - if he bails for no reason at any point, you know what you're going to get that day. And of course, Smith did it on (I believe) the 2nd snap of the game. No pressure; still left the pocket and rolled to his left. He's gotten gunshy for no good goddamn reason.

I think it's interesting that Smith over the last five games has taken half the sacks he did in the first five (17 to 8), when he had his most success.

Except it wasn't 50 mph at that point in the beginning of the game. It started out in the low 20s.

Right? It's just so friggen maddening. He ISN'T getting whacked around and he has no reason to be showing the jitters he's showing. He acts like the instant a DE puts a swim move on his tackle that it's all over. I've seen a handful of times where the DE makes the move and gets on Fisher/Schwartz's shoulder so Alex freaks out. Meanwhile Fisher/Schwartz simply do what a good tackle is supposed to do in those situation and use the DE's momentum to push him past and wash him out.

If Smith steps up, the pocket is clean as a whistle in front of him. Instead he does that backwards/sideways freakout thing and takes himself right into where the tackle was trying to shove the guy.

His OL are doing things correctly that Smith is ****ing up by virtue of feeling pressue that isn't there. The middle of the line is holding and he's acting like its in his lap every other play. The outside is pushing their guys up and around the pocket and giving Smith clean throwing lanes but he's not standing in and making a play.

It's all on Smith - all of it. He's just completely lost his nerve and it's pissing me right off.
