Egomania Tournament: Round 6, Championship Heat

We began with 64 of the largest egos to ever grace us with their presence in the arena of pro football. We are now down to only two. Which of these people possesses the biggest ego in the history of professional football?

Vote for one, as if you had a choice.

No offense, but this is a pretty disappointing championship to me. I think we left much larger egos on the sidelines.

After much thought, I went with:

#1 - Scott Pioli. His reign of terror does not go unnoticed. When your head coach thinks his office was bugged and the front-office staff appear to be living in fear, one can argue that there's some ego at the top. However, I would still make the point that this is more due to insecurity than ego.

#2 - Jerry Jones. I'm going to need some stories to support his presence in the championship. Sure, he fired Tom Landry, but it worked. And he clashed with Jimmy Johnson and they both take credit for the championships in the 1990s, but I don't think that's too unusual. Give me examples, people.

Go back to I think your very first ego mania thread before the polls even started and I was the one that nominated Pioli. So I guess I win.

I think that on any other team's board Pioli would not even come close. I always thought Al Davis would win. Believing that he built the Cowboys dynasty instead of Jimmy Johnson has to put Jones over the top.

Jones.
But I would contend that ego got him where he is so isn't a bad thing...

I can't believe Ray Lewis was eliminated. His ego is a thousand times bigger than both of these guys combined.

He asked the guy that turned his team for annual losers into back to back Super Bowl Champions to step down

How the **** do you do that?

though in his defense he wound up winning with another one....but it's still insanely egotistical

And with this post, we extinguish the torch, lower the flag, and call an end to the egomania tournament. The most egotistical person in the history of professional football is thusly proclaimed to be Jerry Jones, owner of the Dallas Cowboys.
