Also Kobe has been playing an NBA schedule since 1996... your body does completely wear down in 16 seasons.. plus like Marc Stein said the three seasons.

ooh, i know it could have gave out any time, but no one is talking shit about Popavich resting players now! That shit helps. That's possibly the worst injury he could sustain. It robs you of so much explosiveness and drive. Obviously Kobe isn't a kamikaze slasher at this point in his career, but an inability to get lift and separation on his jump shot could be a death knell.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I hope it's just a strain.

He could still be something like Vince Carter is these days if he gets back. But there's a chance he may never be the same, I suppose.

Oh, that's right. I was thinking SAS was going to be #1. Meh, they won't be winning a series against either of them anyway. But I'd really like to see them let Nash be Nash and somewhat like the team I though they could be last summer with some efficient pick-and-roll basketball.

I don't think he's healthy either. That was the biggest problem with this years Lakers team. How many games did Kobe, Nash, Howard, Gasol and Artest play together? I'm guessing they could be counted on one hand. Of course D'Antoni was a horrible choice as well.

Anyways, shit is over and done with. Its time for the Lakers to honestly try to rebuild somehow! Kobe wont be back til at least the middle of next year and at worst the END Of next season then his contract is up.

The feeling I am getting on twitter is that Buss jr's ego was far too big and hindered him from getting the right coach.

Nope, he's not. But they've got to try something now. It's not like they don't have the talent to still score on anybody easily.

D'Antoni was a brutal hiring and it was so obvious from the beginning. Just dumbfounding when Phil was supposedly willing to return.

I do think it would be a shame to see Kobe play as a shell of himself. I hope he can comeback and at least have one really solid year.

I hated Larry Bird when I was a kid because I was a Dr. J guy. I remember rooting for him at the end as I saw him playing through pain to give his team any chance. Kind of feel the same way about Kobe now.
