Cassel injured - who dunnit?

I'd say the replay clearly indicates Niswanger and McIntosh once again teamed up to suck. This time they suck badly enough to get Cassel injured.

First, the initial pressure is put on Cassel by #90. This is Waters' man. However, Waters can't get to him because Sackintosh/Niswanger get in his way.

Cassel is forced to run because of pressure from #90. After running around, #92 tackles Cassel's knee. Why is #92 running free?

He split a double team attempt by Niswanger and McIntosh.

They suck.

Man, the center/right side caved to pressure like a freshman on prom night.

The line is easily my biggest beef with Pioli thus far.

As the Cubs say...wait'll next year.

What I remember from the play was that all Waters saw was a vapor trail left by the dude that blew by him, forcing Cassel up and out into the sack.

I'm still utterly amazed that we have nothing on this offensive line besides Albert. Nothing. How can a team not have a single effective guard?

I think you are right...it's going to be a long season. However the bright side is that next year we can draft a couple of high pick offensive line guys. Pick up a decent guard or tackle to help the rooks out. Then the real rebuilding will be started!

I think Mike (Hairy) Cox deserves his share of the shame. He failed to stay engaged and just started watching the play after pulling off of #92.

This goes higher up to Scott Pioli having "dunnit".

The Chiefs were virtually idle this offseason in terms of upgrading the offensive line and WR talent around Cassel (unless you count adding inexpensive, washed up veterans such as Goff and Engram).

Waiting until the middle of the preseason to begin panic shopping by bringing in the likes of of Lelie and Toomer and trading for the Dolphins offensive linemen duo is further proof that behind the Iron Curtain of secrecy at One Arrowhead Drive... Pioli has come to the realization that he didn't do enough this offseason to upgrade the talent on offense.
