How would you feel?

How would you feel if a couple and a friend met you at a bar, then came home afterwards for drinks then leaves your house and dies on the way home in the back seat of a car?

Even if he got shit-faced he had a ride home. I doubt he would have expected anything else from you if you had posed this scenario to him while he was sober.

My heart hurts man, that's all, I have cried alone until my head feels like it is going to explode.

Dude has 3 kids and now he is gone at 41

I feel for you man, and the kids. Certainly not blaming you for being crushed over this. I know the brain doesn't always think clear when it's emotional. I am just saying under the scenario you gave you shouldn't feel guilty. Your friend wouldn't have expected you to handle the situation any differently.

Gotta agree with NJ here. Sure, it's a weird feeling that you saw him in his final minutes but you or anyone else has nothing to do with why he died. It's no one's fault. Freak accident basically.

Sorry to hear this, man. I don't think you should feel at any way responsible for it, but I'm not going to act like it's going to be easy to get over it. Hang in there...time heals.

It sucks when people die. I'm sorry.

Definitely not something you're responsible for, though.
