Off Season Lets Talk Guns

Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.

Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon?

Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware?

I use that bullet to
I haven't tried Benchmark.
Varget
Reloaders # 15 & #7
H335

Best groups or most consistent out of my Colt seem to come from 25.3 grains of R-15. All my reloads with all 4 powders were superior to any Bulk ammo I had been shooting.
I need to get out & do some more coyote test with 69 grain sierra hpbt

You'd better buy the last few boxes of ammo at Walmart while you can.

WalMart Suspends Ammo Orders Pending Gun Control Decision

By Gregory Gwyn-Williams, Jr.
January 14, 2013

WalMart reportedly has stopped selling ammunition ahead of the Obama administration’s anticipated gun control recommendations to Congress -- and uncertainty over what new laws may be coming.

According to the Investment Watch blog, WalMart Corporation will no longer place new ammunition orders pending “the upcoming decision on the Second Amendment.”

A customer stood with a WalMart employee as a call was made to the corporate office.

WalMart headquarters told the employee the following:

“As of right now WalMart is not going to be making any new orders of ammo because of the upcoming decision on the Second Amendment. As of right now we are unsure of what new legislation might be coming, and because of this, we are suspending new orders.

“We will continue to sell what is already in stock in stores and at our distribution centers, but any new orders will not be shipped until the issue is resolved.”

Investment Watch blog does not provide a link to a WalMart statement but urges customers to contact the corporate headquarters at 1-800-925-6278 to confirm the decision.

You can listen to a recorded customer service call here.

Ummm...ok why do I have little faith that is accurate. I wouldn't at all be surprised that walmart stopped placing orders for ammo. But it is FAR more likely that the reason they did so is that they can't negotiate the pricing they would like. I mean who would the ammo makers rather sell to, bottom dollar walmart or a retail priced dealer? They're already sold out regardless so they will sell to those that pay the most which won't be walmart.

What a bunch of bullshit. Completely misguided.

Now, if they are waiting to see what it does to their prices, that I can understand.

looking for a .38 snub nose revolver for the old lady but having a hard time finding anything in stock.

she's wanting something with a pearl handle like this Taurus 85 Snubnose Revolver .

Thinking about buying a regular .38 then see if I can track down a set of pearl grips.

Thoughts?

Not my cup of tea, but if it's for my girl I will buy her any gun she wants. It gives me justification and rationalization to buy myself more gun stuff.

This! If you want her to be excited about it, go to the extra effort to get her exactly what she wants. Now that doesn't mean you can't show her other guns to see if she might like them more(or in addition) based upon her tastes. Hey who knows maybe she'll start buying a gun for every outfit to accessorize????

Zactly! Figure I get her the pistol she wants and then I don't have to hear the nagging when my next shipment of goodies starts coming to the door by UPS.

Which should be in about 2-3 days.
