The Cowboys of the 90s are a good example. I really believe that the Chiefs O-Line was every bit as good as those Cowboy lines, but we never had an Emmitt Smith to take advantage of the holes that were created by our line. Marcus was still a pretty decent back, but he no longer had the speed to break off long runs that he once had, and Martyocre used the RBBC approach that we all were so fond of. The Chiefs, in spite of that, were still always among the top teams in rushing, but because they didn't have a true feature back, that O-Line was never recognized for being as good as they were. Walter Payton was the one exception that I can remember as a RB that put up numbers in spite of a horrid O-Line for many of his years. So yes, the O-Line did it's job. They created holes for Blaylock, but Blaylock showed the patience to wait for those holes to develop, the vision to find those hole, and the burst to get through those holes.
