So the story goes from a friend who's a big Iowa fan is that they tried to carry them out but realized that wouldn't work once they got to the exit & realized they were revolving doors.

I don't recall many people being happy ATM was leaving outside the Texas fans.
You seriously have to be blind to think that this was a fair trade for the Big XII.

pffft, KSU fans tore them down, and then carried them mostly by foot all the way to Manhattan.

That's funny to think about at KU's expense but it's also stupid. That's got to be 75+ miles from one to the other.

That's not stupid. It's ****ing awesome.

The greatest tradition in all of sports is tearing down the goalposts, carrying them to Harpo's, cutting them into pieces with a saw, and passing them out to fans as souvenirs. I defy anyone to name a cooler tradition.

Uh, what.

Tearing them down & hauling them to Harpo's is not remotely comparable. That's less than 5 miles. I did it in college once and got a piece ('97), it sits on my mantle next to one I got tearing town the GP's at NWMS after semi-final playoff win in '98!

I'm commenting on the part where they hiked them from Lawrence to Manhappy. If what the Kst guy said is accurate that's over 75 miles, you couldn't pay me enough money to do something like that.

I figured it was obvious what I was getting at referencing the distance and in context of the post I was replying to

Am I glad they got punked like that? You bet.

Would I have done that?

Not a chance in hell.

If you are willing to hike 75+ miles w/ a GP on your back more power to you.

In fact that story doesn't even make sense. They had to have cut them up outside town and hauled them or something.

Compared to a school with 2 winning seasons in the last 20 years, they look like it.

I have no idea when KU has torn down goalposts. How do you keep track of so much MU trivia?
