Seriously who gives a shit about this?

Reality is that no ones reads the damn paper anymore with internet/blogs etc. I mean unless you're over the age of 40 maybe.

Same reason why the postal service is going bankrupt. People don't write letters anymore, most people send email and pay bills online, or have them auto-withdraw from their bank acct.

We've been turning into a more "non-paper" culture for the past decade or so.

The Star's sports section used to be the best in the country. Now that Poz and Whitlock are gone, it isn't even close. You still have some excellent beat reporting, and I like Sam Mellinger, but the section doesn't have the talent it once did. That golden era around 2003-2004 when Ivan Carter was covering the Chiefs and Jeff Passan was covering the Royals and Wright Thompson was on staff and Whitlock and Posnanski were doing columns... that was an unbeatable sports section.

He was a very underrated columnist, it's just that most didn't see him for the persona he played. He was the heel to JoPo's face.

This is the death knell for Star sports, and regardless of what many may think, his Monday morning columns about the Chiefs were always good for discussion.
