There are multiple reasons why a LT could be given a sack, least of all having Tim Tebow and Kyle Orton under center.

He was neither on the 2010 nor the 2011 All pro teams. He had a good rookie year and a good 2012 (because of Manning). Doesn't change anything that I've said. He was still on a downward trend of sacks allowed before Manning.

Clady Played well when he had a real NFL quarterback to block for.

It's no coincidence that his best years were with Cutler and Manning under center.

That he played well only when blocking for franchise QBs? That's not that hard to do. Albert has played well while blocking for some of the worst quarterbacks in the league the past 5 years.

I think you're looking at stats as the determination as to how well each player has performed.

Not happening. Albert doesn't care if he makes LT money as a RT, he won't play there. I just don't understand how some people so easily dismiss pride...

That said, they will sign him to the most team friendly deal they can get him to ink, and not have to worry about the bookends for the next 3 years (give or take). At which point they'll let Albert walk, slide Fischer over and still be in a pretty good position on the OL.

I'm looking at stats and I'm looking at performance. Albert like Clady has never been a liability. Like OTWP said a few months ago, I've never gone into a game worried about how Albert is going to perform against a certain pass rusher. He's a great LT that's never had the luxury of playing with a QB with any resemblance of pocket presence.

Not especially. Just b/c Albert's technique looks like a soup sandwich, doesn't mean he doesn't get the job done.

Clady gets way too much respect from idiot media pundits based on the hype that surrounded his rookie season. He really isn't a whole hell of a lot better than Albert, but he does get much more respect.

The same "Media Pundits" that sent six Chiefs to the Pro Bowl in 2012 on a 2-14 team?

The bottom line is that if the Chiefs had even a decent offer for Albert, he'd have been gone. They didn't, so he's a Chief.

And once again, this forum overestimates his value.

If he was "great" he'd have been paid like he was "great" and the Chiefs would have rolled the dice on a different position at 1.1.

Or, someone would have given up a 2nd or 3rd rounder for a "great" left tackle.

Clady has never missed a game, and that is with blowing out one knee playing basketball in the offseason. He's been the LT for 4 different QBs--Cutler, Orton, Tebow and now Manning.

He's pretty darn good.
