Sure, that's a great point, but it can still appeal to the whole family if it's well made. That first new sequel was horrible. What was it...Release Of The Jar Jar? God, it was so bad I've blocked out the title.

And with each and every subsequent post, you prove that you grow just a little dumber each and every day.

I don't think there's a single poster that's more clueless than you, whether it's football, college personnel, NFL personnel, movies or music.

If there is, I hope he or she is neutered.

Disney didn't acquire this franchise for the cost it did to finish a story the way people my age hope against hope to see. They got into this for money, plain and simple. To make huge money over long stretches of time, you do what Lucas did - you cater to the younger generations for sustainability. That is EXACTLY what Disney is going to do, as hinted at with a teenaged girl rumored to be the hero of the upcoming movie(s).

I get what you're saying SDH, and I for one would love to see an adult sized Star Wars movie about the Jedi Academy, Thrawn, Bane, or any number of the darker tellings of the Star Wars Universe, but the fact of the matter is we likely won't ever see anything resembling Empire come out of the Disney studios. They're Disney, for crying out loud. Sucks, but that's the way it likely will be, even though I hope I'm wrong.

The 'Pirates' franchise wasn't too shitty, but that's a whole other beast. We'll see. It will probably end up being a nostalgic suck-fest.

I have no doubt that there will be some darker, more adult-themed entries in the Star Wars universe but I'd be surprised if that happens before the next trilogy is released.

There are still plans for a new animated series set between ROTS and ANH and plans still exist for a live-action series set in that time period as well, which is definitely darker in tone.

'Star Wars 7' actors Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher 'told to lose weight'

http://www.digitalspy.com/movies/new...#ixzz2XJi6wu7b

Quote:
Star Wars actors Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher have reportedly been told to lose weight for the upcoming seventh film of the series.

Producers are said to be hoping for the actors to closely resemble older versions of their characters Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia, according to The Sun.

Hamill, 61, and Fisher, 56, will apparently be given their own nutritionist and personal trainer before filming starts at the end of 2013.

"Mark and Carrie need to be as close to their appearance in the earlier movies as possible," a source claimed. "Producers are keen to help out and have offered support.

"The budget is huge, so there will be no expense spared."

Harrison Ford - who will reprise his role of Han Solo in Star Wars Episode VII - will reportedly not require the same treatment, as producers are said to be happy with his current physique.

JJ Abrams will direct the upcoming seventh installment of the sci-fi franchise, after George Lucas sold the rights to Disney last year.

Fisher recently said of Star Wars being bought by Disney and the planned new movie trilogy: "I'm glad they are doing a new movie because they are sending a trainer to my house so I can get in really good shape. So I'm really eating a lot of sugar in advance, as you can see.

"By the time I really get down to it I will have eaten everything."

Disney will release the blockbuster in cinemas in 2015.

All Disney has to do is not have a hugely convoluted plot line. Since the Prequels are ****ed beyond repair, I have a..."New Hope" that somebody can make a simple, satisfying, action packed film that can make everyone happy for the most part. After the abortion of the prequels, I HAVE to watch these things...and hopefully they won't suck ass...

Exhibit A on the health risks of being an incredibly successful voice actor, apparently.
