Think of it as Clarks rig, with a Hemi!

Ok cars, cheap interior feel. The hemi is nice, but factor in they want the spark plugs changed every 30k IIRC. I personally would have no problem buying one for the right price. Gas mileage is good, unless your wife has a heavy foot lol.

The Magnums are cool looking, I have always liked the way the top looked chopped on them.

I have a 2007 Dodge Magnum SXT that just crossed 80K miles. No hemi, but I couldn't be happier with the rest of the car. I drove from Indianapolis to Charleston, WV, a few weekends ago and measured the mileage at 29 mpg on the open highway ($50 there, $50 back, almost exactly). I've owned it for two years and haven't had any repair issues beyond a blown tire and brake pads. It's very comfortable, even on long trips, and the controls are user-friendly and easy to reach. I'm very pleased with the handling and acceleration. There's plenty of room, even for a tall, awkward Lurch like me (6'1", 230, irritatingly long legs). It's definitely the best car I've ever had.
Also, mine was a company car before they sold it to the user car place where I got it. I'd imagine a lot of these were, so definitely do a Carfax, to make sure they took care of it and it hasn't been horribly trashed at some point (mine wasn't, thankfully). They are rear-wheel-drive, which means a better turning radius (which I love), but it might be bad in snow; I have heard, though I haven't had a snowstorm bad enough to try it out yet, that the Magnums are better than most in snow. Also, the review I read noted that the sloping rear end means the cargo area isn't great for tall cargo - which I suppose would be true, but I can't imagine when I would stand something up that tall. I moved in it, and have slept in the back while camping (the rear seats lie down to almost-flat), and they both worked out just fine. The only complaints I have about it are things that are specific to mine - no electronic door opener means I need to use the driver's side key every time, and a CD has been stuck in the player since I got it. Someday I should get those fixed. Good luck! Post pictures. |
