Movies

Yeah, so I saw a lot of movies this weekend.

Elizabeth: The Golden Age - Mediocre, at best. Slow and dragged on. Shorten it to 2 hours and it's golden. It's not, so it fails.

Michael Clayton - Amazing. Everything about it is awesome. However, it's VERY complex and mind bending. You have to think, so be prepared. I still feel like I'm missing key details of exactly what happened. Gotta see it again.

Across the Universe - Perfect is one word that comes to mind. It just works. And, contrary to many people I bet, the movie is best viewed sober. Trust me.

Also, Thor was great. Had low expectations going in so that may have played a factor, but I thought it was pretty well done. The guy they found to play Thor couldn't have looked/sounded any more like I imagine Thor would be. Also, no homo, he's a pretty handsome guy, and he's buff as ****.. I just want to point that out there. But back to the movie, it had some good action, it was much funnier than I thought it would be, and they did a good job of making the movie not-so-fantastical. The only complaint I can really recall was that when Thor had his hammer it seemed like no one/thing could give him a good fight. How were we supposed to fear the Frost Giants when he was wrecking hundreds of them at a time, by himself? Also I wanted to see more of Idris Elba's character. For those of you who don't know him, he was the black gatekeeper guy named Heimdell.

Hangover II sucked.. That is all.

Loved that movie. "It's time, Lord..." Thought that was pretty creepy. Plus Kate Hudson is pretty damn fine.

Yeah that movie had the most intense first 15 minutes I can recall, but the movie never really matched it. My biggest problem was that they never explained why tthe dad was so smart when he got infected. Did the virus get stronger after fighting the mom's immunity for so long? And if so, why then didn't all of the other infected have similar intelligence. That really made no sense and it seemed like they just made him that way to further the plot.

The Paranormals have been the only legit scary movies I've seen in years. The last movie to actually frighten me (like, have me affected for days after watching), was The Ring.
I agree. I don't know what it is but both the Paranormal Activity flicks really creeped me out. The first one moreso than the second.

Went to see Fast Five last weekend. I thought it was the best one since the first one, and I actually liked it better. I do not like Dwayne Johnson (that is The Rock's name, right?) at all. I know it's probably been said, but don't leave or turn it off when the credits first start.

Trailer Park Boys

(Actually a Canadian TV series, but they made a movie that's enjoyable even if you've never seen the show.)

Tangled was great. Voice acting was incredible and the CGI, as usual, was brilliant. I loved Pascal, thought he was super cute, but wasn't a big fan of Maximus or the "ruffians"..
