Yeah, so I saw a lot of movies this weekend.

Elizabeth: The Golden Age - Mediocre, at best. Slow and dragged on. Shorten it to 2 hours and it's golden. It's not, so it fails.

Michael Clayton - Amazing. Everything about it is awesome. However, it's VERY complex and mind bending. You have to think, so be prepared. I still feel like I'm missing key details of exactly what happened. Gotta see it again.

Across the Universe - Perfect is one word that comes to mind. It just works. And, contrary to many people I bet, the movie is best viewed sober. Trust me.

I tried to watch Speed Racer on HBO earlier this evening. Even with low expectations, it was ghastly. I think I watched about half of it. Yuck.

I watched it last night. The wife and daughter liked it, but I thought it was pretty boring. The thing that bothered me the most was the way the time traveler had no control over when he'd shift, where he'd go, or when he'd come back. It didn't cause nearly as much hardship for him as you'd expect it to (for the most part). There was also no explanation for why he repeatedly visited McAdams on these trips.

If I remember, they make a point to say that he gets pulled to points in his past that have a lot of emotional pull, so it makes some sense that he'd get pulled to his wife and love.
