****OFFICIAL Walterfootball.com Mock Draft Thread****

I know some people around here hate Walter because of his hatred for everything Chief related......but I'll just put all of his mock drafts here. Both Walter and his other writer Charlie have been putting out their 2014 mock drafts. I'll update it when they update it....especially if something major changes.

Charlie Campbell's 2014 NFL Mock Draft - 09/27/2013 - http://www.walterfootball.com/draft2014charlie.php

20. Stephon Tuitt, DE, Notre Dame

The Chiefs could still use a difference-maker on their defensive line unless Tyson Jackson has a breakout season. My guess is that won't happen and Kansas City will be in the market for defensive end help next offseason.

Tuitt (6-6, 303) took college football by storm in 2012. He was a dominant force for the Fighting Irish with his combination of power and surprising quickness. There was talk that Tuitt had gotten overweight into the 310-320 range while rehabbing this offseason, so it remains to be seen if his speed suffers this season. Regardless, it wouldn't be a big surprise if his production declines since teams are likely to send a lot of double-teams his direction.

The junior has 10 tackles with two sacks in 2013. He showed off his athletic ability with some pass pressures and a diving interception for a touchdown against Michigan.

Tuitt lived in the backfield throughout 2012. He recorded 12 sacks, 47 tackles and three forced fumbles, plus returned a fumble 77 yards for a touchdown against Navy. Manti Te'o received all the headlines, but Tuitt and Louis Nix were phenomenal for the Fighting Irish. Like the rest of the Notre Dame defense, Tuitt had a disappointing performance in the National Championship against Alabama, but he was playing with a hernia.

In the NFL, Tuitt could be an excellent fit as a 3-4 defensive end. He also could play end in a 4-3 and move inside to tackle in certain situations.

52. Denzel Perryman, ILB, Miami

The Chiefs could use an inside linebacker to pair with Derrick Johnson. Perryman is a nice scheme fit.

Perryman (6-0, 243) is a fast and physical linebacker. In the early going of 2013, he has been excellent for the Hurricanes. Perryman had a monster game against Florida with 14 tackles and a forced fumble. He is up to 20 tackles this year so far. Perryman notched 64 tackles with six tackles for a loss, two passes broken up, one forced fumble and an interception returned 41 yards for a touchdown last season.

Not only has Perryman been strong against the run but he has shown well in pass coverage. Perryman covers a lot of ground and does a nice job of covering receivers who come into his zone. He looks like he has three-down ability for the NFL.

Looks like he has us giving our 3rd to the 49ers.

I'd rather see us hold onto Jackson, really. I wouldn't mind Tuitt, though.

I'd really like to see a QB or more receiver help. That's where this team needs to build the most.

Yeah, saw that.

Honestly, at least that's working on the right side of the ball. Charlie whatshisname drafted us two front seven defenders, despite the fact the front seven is this team's strength...

I'm not a fan of the 2nd round pick....but obviously I'm a huge fan of the Tuitt pick. I'd rather have Matthews (WR) or Carr (QB) with that 2nd round pick.

If the Chiefs are good enough to pick at #20, will they still a 2nd?

Bingo.

They'll get that figured out soon enough.

ASJ is going to be a ****ing stud at the next level. Of course, I'm biased, so I LOVE the pick.

If we draft in the 20's I could see a receiver coming our way.

There is not a chance in hell that Tuitt falls that far. No way, no how.

If Allen and Asamoah don't pull their heads out of their respective asses, I'll almost guarantee you that this guy will be strongly considered by the Chiefs with their first round pick:

Gabe Jackson is an absolute animal.

Quote:
Several NFL scouts were in attendance at Scott Field to evaluate Jackson, according to the Sun Herald, and one "high-ranking and well-respected" scout was apparently blown away by Jackson's performance: "Really, really impressive. He is one big and powerful man."

Bulldogs coach Dan Mullen said Jackson, beyond his natural ability, brings a tireless work ethic to refining the technical craft of guard play. Approach-wise, it's as if Jackson is already in the NFL.
