***Official Draft Tyler Wilson Thread****

...might as well get this started early.

Perhaps his injury well allow him to slip to the middle of the of the 1st round,..where we tend to draft.

neither Wilson nor Smith's skill set or game film has changed one iota since the end of the season...

it's hilarious how people treat this like it was an episode of Survivor..."oh, I don't like Johnny anymore...he shouldn't have done that"

I mean not to sound like I'm slamming Geno but yeah you can make an argument.

SEC tested. Pro system. Not as much talent to work with. Stronger arm.

I like them both but thing their styles are pretty different.

In OUR opinion.

It only matters what teams think about it. They likely won't care much, if at all.

Again, guys skip the Senior Bowl ALL THE TIME.
I agree but, most guys that skip are much better prosepcts that have less flaws. IMO, the truth is that Wilson fits Reid's system better and is ready to play right now. I think this because of his ability to scramble. I think that will appeal to Reid. I also think that Wilson throws into tighter pockets more consistantly and is used to tighter coverage from playing in the SEC. Wilson definately reads defenses better after the ball is snapped and I think that will be a big sticking point in the next month or two. Wilson has had fewer problems with his game over time too. Geno had major footwork problems until this year and his feet are still not perfect. It will all be over analyzed soon imo.

I don't believe Geno could start from day one. I know I am in the minority but, the learning curve will be greater because of the offense he ran in college.

Note: I know Geno ran an offense that had him under center most of the time a couple of years ago but, it was a college offense and it has been a while.

I don't think there is anything that I can show you that will convince you that Wilson is better than Geno at the moment. I would like to see this as well if I am way off base here.

Geno and Wilson are two completely different types of QB's.

IMO, Geno is the smooth and cool QB. Tyler is the gritty gunslinger.

It's a matter of preference.
Thank you for the thoughts.

Tyler.... even though I'm an Arkansas fan, look at the defenses he's played against on a weekly basis... SEC defenses are the most comparable to the NFL.. This last year, he played well with no real help from the backfield or offensive line against rediculous circumstances with the whole Petrino debacle. The year previous, as a junior, He lead the SEC in passing. This is a nobrainer for me. He would be an immediate upgrade and should be the #1 pick of the draft. I'm not going to get my hopes up though. Bowe is the only player that I hoped that the Chiefs would take first and did. This kid is a gamer and a leader with all of the criteria. My argument for him being the take is simply the caliber of defenses he played against and his fearlessness.

This is a REALLY good post here, especially the bolded part.

Do you like pepperoni or canadian bacon? They're both popular toppings and they both make for GREAT pizza.

Again, in our minds. Not the minds of the actual scouts.

For all we know, he's been told "you're going top 5, kid".

Reid's "system" was custom-tailored to fit Donovan McNabb. Geno is much closer to McNabb than Wilson is. I see this one completely different than you do.

Wilson is a better fit in the pure WCO, Geno is a better fit in REID'S particular offense.

Major? Don't think so. But yes, his footwork will be analyzed thoroughly in the coming weeks. It is a concern.

There's a reason you're in the minority here and I'll leave it at that.

I also should say here that even though the "Pistol" style quarterback is becoming increasingly popular because of RGIII, Russell Wilson & Newton (who's already fading), I think the upside and longevity of this style quarterback is not trustworthy (Vick, Young, etc.). I don't like the Geno idea. Wilson is mobile, smart and tough as nails with an accurate gun.

Geno is nothing like any of them. He's a pure pocket passer. Jfc
