Harrison of NFL.com ranks his top 10 QB's of '15 and Alex....
You can read the full list and see video here
Here's a small excerpt Competition was fierce at the 10-spot, coming down to Cam Newton, Matt Ryan, Eli Manning, Joe Flacco and Matthew Stafford. If we were talking overall careers, Manning would be the choice. Flacco presents an interesting argument, because he tends to light it up in nationally televised games. At the same time, there's no question he's been inconsistent since winning Super Bowl XLVII. Stafford's inaccuracy in key spots has driven Lions fans crazy. Newton's calling card has never included on-the-mark throws, but his overall game can be a nightmare for defenses. Ryan, meanwhile, has been the most consistent, and was ultimately the toughest to leave off. So why Smith? |

In fact, before winning in Miami last season and Jax the year before, I cannot remember a win in Florida. Edit: They won in Miami in 05. A make up game that wasn't televised. |

All this bitching you do about Smith and you think he's the eleventh best QB in the league?

Add him to top 10 and I would put these QBs ahead of Smith Flacco Cam Tannehill And I would even consider Bridegwater over Smith. He's younger and he hasn't peaked like Alex already has. Bridegwater doesn't get media attention like most QBs but I think he did damn good with the little talent he has around him. I guess Alex Smith would 15 best if I broke it down, average spot nothing special.

I think it's a fair spot to be honest. Bridegwater is a silent killer though, 7-9 with the AP drama? He did fairly decent.

I don't like to rank, because I have a hard time separating the man from the player. There is no way I'd want Rapelisburger heading up my team so I wouldn't have him in my top ten. Eli to me is too big of a baby. I know he has two superbowl rings on his finger, but when things start going badly, he implodes into a whiney little baby.... doesn't make my list. I just don't like Flacco's play. This is a strange deal in which I think his receivers have made Flacco look better than he is by constantly making incredible catches that Flacco just kind up puts up for anyone to grab. I could be wrong, but not on my list. And I just don't know, or haven't watched, Tannehill enough to have him there.

Follow up article today on the reactions to the QB top 10 list (mainly in regard to Brady and Smith). Here's the link:
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300...ady-alex-smith I'm of the same mind when comparing Smith to Flacco as that of the author, shown here: "So let's go recent, as every quarterback being evaluated now should not have 2008 included. Makes no sense. Let's look at it like politics: a four-year term. Smith vs. Flacco ... Winning percentage: Flacco .625, Smith .691 Completion percentage: Flacco 59.6, Smith 63.4 Yards per attempt: Flacco 6.84, Smith 7.01 TD-to-INT ratio: Flacco 88:56, Smith 71:23 (this is a massive difference) Passer rating: Flacco 82.9, Smith 92.8 We didn't include rushing stats, because it doesn't matter that much (at least compared to passing yards) and it would be so one-sided, why bother? So, postseason success is legitimately the only thing Flacco has on Smith, and that's pretty team- and coaching-centric. Just ask Hall of Famers Dan Fouts and Dan Marino. For the record, I don't think Smith is necessarily better than Flacco. However, I believe Smith is trending upward and has Maclin, Travis Kelce and Jamaal Charles to lean on. Meanwhile, Flacco will be trying to integrate rookies at wideout (Breshad Perriman) and tight end (Maxx Williams) -- and we'll have to find out if Justin Forsett can do it again.

I like that the very first thing he discredits Flacco for doing is having a lower winning % than Alex Smith, but then when it comes to Flacco basically carrying the Ravens to a SB win, something Smith will NEVER do for his team, he ignores it because playoff wins are "too team and coach centric."
